What I'm trying to tell you it's that when you boot your phone normally , reboot your phone into in recovery mode and wipe cache partition, that's it, then go to your phone an put it in USB debboguin. . and do the rest of the instructions. .

Remember that when you connect to de computer your phone has to be in USB debboguin and don't put the phone in download mode your self , when you connect to the computer and run the SM-900V_FI_ROOTE.exe file , the program will reboot the phone in download mode, then you just put the 1.tar when the program starts Odin and let the program do there job and don't move anything, wait wait and wait, then when the program starts Odin for the second time put the 2.tar and wait till you see in Odin Pass , then you can disconnect from the computer and start your phone , look for the king root app if you see it that's good news, probably your phone its already rooted.

I got some problems like yours. Here is how i solved them.
1 open the exe and click any key. It will reboot the phone and open odin.
2 install tr1 from odin, when the phone starts to reboot press any key on exe to start the root process(in my case the phone stuck in samsung galaxy logo for 2 3mins and then the exe gave error for not installing tr.APK on the phone)
3 if the phone boots to download mode install tr2
3.1 if the phone reboot to recovery, boot to download mode manually by pressing the buttons and than install tr2
4 now when the phone boots in OS after tr2, just put the tr.apk in phone storage and install it

if you installed tr.apk manualy just open it and click root authorization and give root checker the permission

Ok, if you have the app that's good news, now open king root and try to root your phone, if it says root no available don't worry just restar the phone and hopefully you'll see that you have root access.
If you install superuser from the play store Uninstall it first.
