Samfirmware just said no froyo till Oct/Nov. That makes it 4 months behind the date of the original statement. What the hell is up with samsung??

I hope that's just rumour and that in two or so days we'll be pleasantly surprised. :)

Then again, I was told my Samsung UK that Froyo wouldn't come until October anyhow... :rolleyes:

Wonder when the release will come out in Canada since the Rom's here for Bell are almost bone stock. with no tweaks.. and they did release the 3 button combo fix for us fast.

I wouldn't count on it. When is it the last time that a new android version was released first in Canada? On average we are about 3-6 months late.
And there are still some customizations. Like the Bell PVR app, and the locales aren't the same (only 2 choices : canadian English or canadian French)

2.2 Upgrading Steps....

KIES will not detect the update......
Use Odin3_v1.0.exe ((download from the same site....))


A) Preparation
0- Backup what u have to backup
1- Download I9000JHJP4 (152 MB) File & unRar it somewhere (E.g. c:\Froyo\)
2- Download s1_odin_20100803.pit (1.7 KB) to the same folder
3- Download Odin3_v1.0.exe (399 KB)
4- UnRoot The Galaxy S (if it rooted....)
5- Turn it OFF AND DO NOT CONNECT....

B) Installing Froyo

1- Run Odin3_v1.0.exe
2- Check all three check boxes..(Re-partition, Auto Reboot and f. Reset Time)
3- Press PIT Button and Load s1_odin_20100803.pit as pit
4- Press PDA button and load GT-I9000-CSC-HOME-PTRJP4.tar as PDA file
5- Turn Galaxy in DOWNLOAD MODE ( Volume Down + Home + Power )
6- When Download Yellow Triangle Appear Connect Galaxy
7- Odin3_v1.0.exe must detect GALAXY AND its port...
8- Press Start and wait till PASS SQUARE Lited with GREEN....
