You have to install the last Flashtool version

Try contacting the Developer World support (http://developer.sonymobile.com/), they're way more useful for off-the-wall questions like these. They still may not be able to help, I don't think your phone was ever intended to upgrade.

Hi Xasbo, I solved my problems: I read in another topic that we have to install the last update for flashtool (0.9.13.0), because in some case we can have some troubles with it. Well, I had already updated flashtool, but I was passed by 0.9.10.0 to 0.9.13.0 (so it wasn't a clear installation). Today I uninstalled Flashtool and reinstalled directly the 0.9.13.0 version.
After, I flashed C6903 global firmware and...... it works!!!! :D:D:D

I suggest to "ianford10" to add this information at the beginning of this topic and specify that is very important to install the last update of Flashtool. :)

Just a couple of questions.

A big thank you to all the members who have contributed by creating the FTF's so other members just need to look in one thread. Please continue to support this thread, if you have a device with a different customisation id then please consider creating the ftf, the more we have the easier it is for anyone to restore there device back to stock or just to flash a different regions firmware.

So what your saying is, I can flash a ftf from any region as long as the model number matches? I have a c6902 unbranded global. currently live in the US and need to downgrade in order to root so I can make a TA backup. I'm going to unlock the bootloader and flash an aosp rom for a while, but I want that TA backup before I do.

That is correct although some members have reported success when flashing ftfs that are for a different model.

Cheers

Will I lose my global status, or in other terms, will my phone be set to the locale of the ftf I flash?

It will change depending on which you flash, Europe for instance, but it will not show as Italy or Germany. I believe we have 3 types, Global, MEA middle east Asia and Europe.

I think it could mean Baltic
I've found it mentioned on some other "older" models

Xperia Z:
Baltic Generic (b) Generic BAL 1270-7278 1270-7126
Baltic Generic (b) Generic BAL 1270-7278 1270-7129

Just a guess though

I have a Vodafone Branded Z1 C6903 from Germany can I flash the "C6903_14.2.A.0.290_Generic DE 1277-0154_R2B.ftf" without problems with the flashtool :)
I have the phone since yesterday and every Subject in the forum about how to "unbrand" your phone is closed :(

Does anyone have C6903 14.2.A.0.290 Generic BE (Belgium) ? I guess having a phone from Germany prevents me from getting access to my operator's LTE network... Can see it, but can't connect.

Thanks.
