The Sony Xperia Z Ultra is a 2013 high-end phablet designed and manufactured by Sony Mobile.
Codenamed Togari and marketed as "the world's slimmest Full HD smartphone", it is the first phone that allows users to take notes or draw on with a regular pen or pencil.
Like the Sony Xperia Z and Z1, the phone is dust protected, low pressure water jet protected, and waterproof, allowing immersion under 1.5-metre of water for up to 30 minutes (IP55/58), as well as shatter-proof and scratch-resistant, making it the world's thinnest IP certified smartphone.
Pre-requisites:

  • Before we go any further, Please check your phone model number by going to Settings -> about phone -> Model number, If yours match this Number C6833 Then you are good to go.

if you upgrade using stock FTF from Sony it will lock your bootloader and restore recovery to standard, and you'll lose root if you had it before.

oh, it won't permamently lock your bootloader, so you can re-unlock it. But when you do that, on first boot the phone will do a factory reset and so all your data will be lost.

so, before upgrading, I strongly recommend doing a full backup of your phone and also make a backup copy of SD card.
