I'd just like to recommend that nobody bother with this anymore. Just switch over to CM7 nightly builds, most are stable enough for regular use.

Full Gingerbread Theme on the HTC Legend

FEATURES
  • GB matte black status bar with green indicators
  • GB keyboard
  • GB dialer
  • GB launcher
  • 3D app drawer (if you've used Launcher Pro)
  • GB menus
  • GB lockscreen
  • Unlock & other fancy animations
  • GB live wallpaper

REQUIREMENTS

*** NO METAMORPH REQUIRED!

STEPS

*** DO A BACKUP FIRST!!!

  1. Flash CM6.1-Gingertheme.v6.1.LEGEND.zip

  2. Select STOCK_Black theme in CM settings. (User interface --> Tweak Extras)

  3. Flash the keyboard and select Android Keyboard in text input.

  4. Open up LCDDensity and set to 240 then restart.

  5. Open up LCDDensity again, set to 160 (default), and restart again (this is to fix the unusually small size of the new keyboard).

  6. Use the icons to give the LauncherPro dock the Gingerbread look. DO NOT FLASH THE ICON ZIP FILE just extract it and customize through the LauncherPro menu. Alternatively, you can use the Gingerbread Launcher in the Market, but it does not have support for a 3D app drawer.

  7. Set wallpaper to "Nexus" live wallpaper.

BUGS

  1. Rebooting the phone will cause the keyboard to return to its small state again. You'll have to repeat steps 4 & 5 to correct it.
  2. After flashing the theme from Sympnotic, the CM theme options may appear as a blank menu with one checked radio next to it. Check it again, leave the menu, go back, and STOCK_Black should be there.
  3. After flashing CM6.1-Gingertheme.v6.1.LEGEND.zip I got stuck at the Cyanogenmod boot screen. I had to power it down then power it back up for it to properly boot. Everything was fine after.
  4. "Add Call" button appears lower than the "End" and "Dialpad" buttons (See Post #5). Flash CM6.1-Gingertheme.v6.1.LEGEND.zip to fix. Thanks to Sympnotic.

MISSING FEATURES

  • New live wallpaper as seen on the Nexus S. Fake Nexus S live wallpaper added!
  • Official Nexus S live wallpaper.
  • Orange colour burst when reaching the end of a menu.
  • Sleep animation.

Thanks jaStrom... this is exactly what I've been looking for. Great job.

Anyone else experiencing the issue in the image attached below? The "Add Call" button is lower than the "End" and "Dialpad" buttons.

I just noticed that mine does the same thing. I'm looking into it and I'll post a solution if there's one to be had. :)

Hey thanks. Also, you ever think about making the notification bar slightly transparent? I think that would look real nice. Just a thought. I'd do it myself but have thus far be unable to figure out how.

I'm just trying to learn this stuff too. Right now I'm relying on Sympnotic for the theme and I'm not sure if there are any plans for a transparent version. Maybe in the future if I can figure it out myself.

@jaStrom: Just want to ask you something. Did you sign framework-res.apk after you apply the theme? And did you zipaligne the modified apks?

No and no. I didn't create the required files mentioned in the first post. All I did was flash/install the required items, made sure everything worked, then posted exactly how I did it. I'm still in the process of learning about how to properly use the SDK, so I've been relying on more advanced users' work.

That doesn't mean that it isn't zipaligned or signed, I just don't know since I didn't make it. Why? Are you experiencing slower performance?

Nothing special. I am just trying to port Gingerbread theme to BlaY0's B0.1 ROM.

Hi, I did the theme, and no, i'm not signing or zipaligning it, I'm too lazy to do that as I'm always replacing things at the last moment before flashing and testing it, but I'm moving files from .zip to .zip to prevent issues concerning signing.
Properly recompiled (w/o errors) framework-res.apk using apktool (supposedly fake signed) gives me bootloops.
I'll grab the fake-sign java thing just in case and will find some infos about it.

Ps: jaStrom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=869771 :)
Legend version using your framework-res.apk, could you try ?

Gave it a try and everything works well. The new unlock animation is cool! The 'call' button is still lower than the 'end' and 'dialpad' buttons though. It doesn't cause any practical problems, it's just odd. Thanks for the Legend version!

v6.1 should solve the problem :) give it a try :p

edit:If removing Phone.apk from my themes fix your problem, there's no reason to keep a wildfire and a legend theme :) that's even better ;)
