I owned the HD2 for over a year, and started looking for another phone that was built as well. There has not been any phone with a 4.3" screen and such small space on all four sides of the screen, but the Sensation has come very close. I know there are not many people that would compare the HD2 to the Sensation, but that was the phone to start the 4.3" screen war and was build with great muscles. HTC knew what they were doing when building that phone, but someone got extremely stoned one night and said "OK Let's put Windows 6.5 as the OS". If that had not happened, the Evo would not be around today. They tried to make a correction with that by building the Evo, but with all the cheap plastic, it really didn't do justice.
I really wanted another pure Android phone again and first looked at the Thunderbolt as a replacement. But after going to the store with my HD2 and comparing it to the Thunderbolt, I was not impressed and it was just too bulky for me. So, I decided to wait, knowing T-Mobile would eventually come out with another great HTC horse.
Patience is a virtue, and I love the Sensation. Instead of buying a new contract, I purchased the phone at full price and couldn't be happier. I am one of the lucky ones, who has not had a single problem with my phone yet. Except maybe the volume, but I have corrected that. At first I was disappointed with the battery, because I was only getting 8hrs. But I decided to remove the Clock/Weather from both the main screen and the lock screen, and just put the weather app there to tap on. I am now getting 14-16hrs and close to 18hrs with 1900mAh battery.
I am glad I waited it out for another well built HTC phone, and when the bootloader becomes unlocked, we are in for some great possibilities.
