ROOT IN 10 STEPS!
I am borrowing most information/details from Team Codefire thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/orig-development/root-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765
Source files and contributors: Official credit goes to @Unjustified Dev , @thecubed , @autoprime , @actr0n , @somboons , @sriszone and @rtoh and @luongquang
I'm only posting this because this guide has worked for me and I wanted to share with the community SPECIFIC instructions, not generic for "all other" G4s and summarising 2-3 threads here in the one post:
PREPARATION:
(I) Read, read, read! Read EVERYTHING. Do it TWICE. Make sure each step is understood. MAKE SURE you have the right LG USB drivers, too
(II) To be on the safe side, I'd recommend 80% charge or more before attempting the following procedure.
(III) Download "LG Root" here:
http://d-h.st/uO8h then Unzip and open the contents somewhere on your PC. Eg: Desktop. set aside for the procedure.
(IV) I take no official credit for root; just the "easy to follow" guide you are reading specifically designed for the H818P and H818N dual SIM phones. Hit the "THANKS" button if this has helped. It goes without saying, I take ZERO responsibility if you follow this guide and miss a step, a command and end up BRICKING your device. You assume all responsibility for turning your phone into a giant paperweight.
INSTRUCTIONS:
STEP 1: Go to settings > Security > Encryption. **MAKE SURE** Encryption is TURNED OFF. If you've never encrypted your phone before, do not worry and continue to STEP 2.
STEP 2: Go to Settings > About Phone > Software Information and tap build number until you are presented with "You are now a developer". if you've already done this before - just Exit back to SETTINGS main screen; in Developer Options enable USB Debugging
STEP 3: Download the relevant system .IMG file for your phone (It's zipped, so unzip it to your PC. Eg: Desktop). It shouldn't matter...but may I suggest downloading the SAME system file you are currently using? If you are running v10c on your H818P, I'd get v10c for H818P:

HAVE YOUR OWN 818P/818N .IMG? POST IT HERE AND I'LL UPDATE!
NOTE: I can't/won't be manually rooting your stock IMG file rips. If you need to know RIP or create your own G4 stock .IMG file from your phone, see @somboons video tutorial here:
STEP 4: Move the resulting "system.rooted.phonemodel.img" file to the root of your phone's internal storage (not external SD card) with MTP mode. **DO NOT** RENAME this file, or move it into any folders!
STEP 5: Once this has been done, POWER OFF your phone normally and disconnect from PC. After LED stops blinking (OFF properly), Hold the UP VOLUME key and re-insert the USB cable from your PC to your phone. If done correctly, you should see DOWNLOAD MODE in small font in middle of the screen. it will then display another screen with text: FIRMWARE UPDATE (a USB logo) a warning to not unplug and a status bar at 0%.
STEP 6: On a windows PC, Start a command prompt (Start > Run > cmd) and navigate to the unzipped contents folder of LG Root from STEP 3. If you don't know how to run command or understand it **STOP HERE** and google HOW TOs, as the wrong commands or lack of understanding/ignorance may hinder the process! (On my PC, the command prompt line after navigation to my unzipped folder looks like
C:\Users\RoOSTA\Desktop\LG_Root ). Put this window aside for a moment...
STEP 7: Let's verify the COM port your phone is connected to. Find the LG Root tools you downloaded in PREPARATION. Go into the folder and double click the file "ports.bat". Look for the COM number that corresponds to "DIAG1". **WRITE DOWN / REMEMBER THE COMM PORT NUMBER!** Let's assume it's COM4. Click any key/exit this window now...
STEP 8: Let's continue now where we left off - following on from STEP 7 (in the command window where we see something similar to:
C:\Users\RoOSTA\Desktop\LG_Root ) Here, copy/paste or type this command MAKING SURE THE RIGHT COMM NUMBER IS ENTERED: Send_Command.exe \.
COM4
STEP 9: You should see Author: blog.lvu.kr and SPECIAL COMMAND : ENTER, LEAVE on 2 lines followed by a hashtag (#). If you are up to this point, type id and press ENTER
STEP 10: You should get back some text starting with "uid=(0)root gid=(0)root". If not, press CTRL-C, and repeat STEP 8 again (The application sometimes doesn't respond on the first command). If it worked for you, from here run the command below (copy/paste next to the # and press ENTER). NOTE: Only copy/paste the **CORRECT** code from the list below.
If you've done this correctly, as soon as you've pressed ENTER, you'll see a blinking cursor, probably for a few minutes. Basically the pre-rooted system image you are FLASHING to your phone is being written, so it may take a few minutes. When complete, you should see #. If you see this, it's DONE! Type LEAVE and press ENTER. Your phone should then restart... Once it's rebooted and you'd like to verify, download ROOT CHECKER from the Play store, run the app and verify. Here's mine, it worked!
IMPORTANT AND DON'T FORGET:
1. If you haven't done so already, disable OTA. Don't update until we know it's safe so your ROOT isn't affected t
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/disable-ota-t3131493
2. if you are wondering - YES, you can now delete the .IMG file from the root location on your G4, once you've completed STEP 10 (the whole process), completely, there's no need for the file there to take up space.
Use this code in STEP 10 (same code for ALL other system files, just make sure our FILENAME matches!)
If using your OWN system IMG file (one not in this thread), you basically need to MAKE SURE your system IMG file **matches** what is listed in the CODE above. You'll notice 10e and 10d above are basically identical codes with DIFFERENT FILE NAMES! That's the only change you need to make using your own file/s
FYI you can follow this video on Youtube to get the same result, but NOTE: ***THE FILES NEEDED / COMMANDS ARE DIFFERENT***
While ROOT is not yet support (SO DONT USE THESE FILES BELOW TO ROOT!) You can get Android Marshmallow ROMS for H818. *BIG* thanks @AmGaD-SaLaH
