Just flash the full firmware for RETLA. That's it. It's not an update zip, it's full firmware. So you don't need any update path. The newest I see for xt1922-5 RETLA is pie. Flash the whole firmware either with fastboot or RSDlite.

That's what I assumed the fact it updated to OPPS27.91-143-2 kinda tripped me out though as mirrors.lolinet.com has 143-2 listed as XT1922-4 in RETLA

I am not sure how to do that
Open your file explorer app (any will do, even the built in one) go into internal storage, then your download folder. Long press the update zip. Then tap the three dots menu in upper right corner. Select move to or copy to. Exit the download folder by pressing back until you are outside the folder. Now you're in the root of storage. Press copy or move . That's it.
I'm just using the magisk zip as an example of a file for my screenshot.

If this is too much for you, you should really stop before you break it. Seriously. This is very, very, basic stuff

There hope it's clear what I did. When exiting download it took me to home screen. Is this now in Root of storage? Sorry for being slow to this I'm just not sure why it won't manually update.

Sent from my moto g(6) play using XDA Labs

I got this to work on a US Cellular version of it, and I tried to make a guide on how I did it but it was a fail...
Make the guide. Which file did you use? Im asking because US cellular has pie firmware released and it may be able to be flashed to our sprint xt1922-7 phones as well. They may be interchangeable.

I have a Boost G6 Play (Jeter) and updated to pie from Sprint ota manually via stock recovery. No need for US Cellular as we already have it. I'll grab link and slap it here for you to ota zip. I just changed name to update.zip and installed in stock recovery. Not sure I understand..... Back in a few work link to our pie 9.0 ota.

Links in op to Sprint pie ota

That's the same one I offered that I uploaded. He's updated past the target version and his bootloader is locked

it works on "JETER" XT1922-1 thanks.

Please mirror.

ui_print("Target: motorola/aljeter/aljeter:9/PPP29.41/b1fe5:user/release-keys");

Download

As far as I know, you must be on the Sept. patch. So, you must downgrade firmware first. It also appears to be for the Aljeter only, so I don't know if it'll work on the Jeter.

I am not responsible for any bricked devices.

1. Downgrade to OPP27.91-143 first.

2. Extract gpt_main0.bin from the ota zip and flash it in fastboot.

fastboot flash partition gpt_main0.bin

3. Reboot to recovery, and apply the OTA update from your sdcard.

4. Let the system restart. It'll take about 10min.
thanks dude

Soak tests done?

Just had the OTA pop up for my XT1922-7 (Boost/Sprint) on the security patch level from February 1, 2019. I think the soak tests are done and all the people with my model need to do right now is wait any day now for the OTA notification to pop up if it hasn't already. I've seen that Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon all started their large scale rollouts this month. Sprint started July 11, AT&T started July 8, and Verizon started July 18. The version number of my Pie update says it's build PCP29.118-41 and it brings the security patch level to June 1, 2019. File size was approx. 1085 MB (1.05 GB).

All that's need for me to do is find the .zip for the patch on my device and move it so I can update without accidentally re-encrypting my device. Don't want to risk flashing one of the older Pie patches as those came during an earlier security patch level and I don't know it would mess with the February patch level.

Edit: I can't find the update on this device. Tried all the spots and can't find it...

Well the problem is you have to be on full stock no root or decrypt in order to install the update from ota. Reflssh stock firmware, don't root and take updates

I think you may have mis-read my post. My post was primarily to inform people that the soak tests are done and that Pie has rolled out for everybody that is on the February security patch. The rest was me saying that I need to find that downloaded OTA on my device so that I can rename+move to internal "sdcard" in order to update. I know how to revert back to my default boot & recovery images and my root doesn't touch /system. I've updated the phone from the 2018 builds up until the February patch (all OTAs) with no problem. Just because I'm new to the forum, doesn't mean I'm new to the world of Android flashing. I'm mostly a lurker ;)

Anyways, I found the zip in data/misc_ne/Blur_Version.27.261.8.jeter_sprint.sprint.en.US.zip and it's 1.14 GB. Not sure if I have upload permissions to upload this zip.

Root does touch the system. Magisk sits in /data, but by necessity it has to remount /system for it to start working on boot. That alone will make the OTA fail. You can't ever remount anything after flashing stock. The OTA will check. TWRP having been used on the device will also cause the same problem. You have to flash stock to install that. The man isn't lying to you.

It has absolutely nothing to do with you being new.... If you know how to flash the proper files fine but your making it sound like you can be rooted with twrp and install a stock ota which you can't unless you flash stock recovery and stock boot Which if someone is going from rooted Oreo to soak then you need to reflash the firmware for the encryption disabler to work as the Oreo stockboot and stock recovery is not the same as pie. Also if your on the Oreo firmware ending with 150-6 then it's better to just wait to get the offical pie update You don't have to rename it either if you choose to flash it from stock recovery jsut out it in the root of your sd card, and starkiller2 already posted both the soak and offical so there wouldn't be a point in someone uploading it again also considering the official pie firmware is already uploaded to mirrors.

My OTA was the official Pie. Everything I posted was in relation to that. I was working around triggering the encryption mechanism and basically did everything you said. Please take a look at the numbers I posted in my first post in this thread an compare them to everything else as this was an official OTA and I checked Moto's support site to see if these were the wide-release builds going out during this month. They were. I don't see anything in this forum about the "Blur_Version" or build number I posted (https://forum.xda-developers.com/se...ersion.27.261.8.jeter_sprint.sprint.en.US.zip, https://forum.xda-developers.com/search/forum/8553?query=PCP29.118-41) so I assume any other download might cause some update problems for people with XT1922-7 devices that were on the February patch. I'm putting this information down so people don't potentially and royally hose their phones during the Nougat to Pie transition.

I also saw another build number for "Blur_Version" that was "Blur_Version.29.11.46.jeter_sprint.sprint.en.US" but that wasn't the zip that was downloaded to my from from the update mechanism. I've already got everything sorted, anyway. There's some little UI quirks about Pie that I already don't like...

The same build you're talking about has been up for 3 days now. And it's the full firmware which is always better than patching up via OTA. It's here, XT1922-7_JETER_SPRINT_9.0_PCP29.118-41. I think you mean Oreo to Pie transition, because we've never had Nougat for this device. Also, what are you even on about? You're posting in a deprecated thread because of problems that you think people might encounter? Is that what this is? Your posts have honestly been more confusing than anything else.
