Is it possible that the fingerprint scanner doesn't work after you touched it with the screen off?

I just found a line in the SystemUI.apk which is:

<bool name="config_fingerprintWakeAndUnlock">true</bool>

I don't know if it has something to do with it, but I remember somebody reporting that that was the case

camera crash

Hi guys, my LOS 14 is from 2017-05-15 (by zytrix78, clean install). hennymcc activated the default camera again with https://github.com/cm-3470/android_...mmit/0f39f1ee8d43340f6727a0fdf4040bf93022bf80

So I tested the default camera app. I encountered no crashes (the previous used camera "snap" made the camera crash after a while) but I was not satisfied with the picture quality. I installed "snap camera HDR" again and noticed that quality is much better.
Since I have some free time I wanted to try out some other camera apps too. The first app I chose was the "retrica" app. Sadly I couldn't test the app since the app crashes the camera immediately. So I had to do the same procedure like with the old snap camera: restart phone or use a camera restarter app.

Maybe someone else can try out the app and report if it's also crashes the camera for him. I also attached a log for the devs.

problems with flashing recovery

I tried to flash the recovery with recovery.tar.md5. Odin seemed to work properly. But when I booted into recovery mode the stock recovery loaded, instead of TWRP.

I tried it 2 or 3 times more, always with the same effect. The warranty void has changed from 0 to 1.

What can I do? In some bulletin boards it's recommended to use Odin without having ticked "Auto reboot".

What's your recommendation?

Thank you for your help!

You must not let the phone reboot after flashing TWRP in recovery. Otherwise it will go back to stock recovery. You can flash a boot.img in TWRP. Just select "install image" and be POSITIVE you check boot for the partition and NOT recovery.

Right after flashing with ODIN you need to enter recovery. If the system boots it will automatically revert the recovery.
The best way to achieve this is to untick "Auto reboot" in ODIN. After ODIN completed the flashing task separate the phone from the computer and remove the battery for a moment. Then start the phone with VolUp, Home and Power Button pressed.
If you want to flash a more recent version of TWRP than in the first post, take the one from https://aykevl.nl/android and convert it with https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2446269.

There should be an "avc: denied" message in your log output. Can you check the output (enable developersettings and in them enable debugging, then do a "adb logcat" on a console). There are also apps for reading out the logcat output if you don't know how to work with adb.
If you have the log we can fix the denials.

do you mean this?
Code:
05-29 21:48:09.000 2066 2066 W cbd : type=1400 audit(0.0:181): avc: denied { read } for name="nv_data.bin" dev="mmcblk0p3" ino=32 scontext=u:r:cpboot-daemon:s0 tcontext=u:object_r:efs_file:s0 tclass=file permissive=0

FYI

Hello! I did clean install of last hennymcc's ROM, but it isn't work, I've got bootloop. How can I solve this problem?
Same problem here.
Same problem here.
I have this problem.
That is a problem with the current Kernel.
@spookcity138 is trying to figure it out. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72477088&postcount=300
You can install his previous kernel if you don't want to go all the way back to a previous ROM. https://github.com/Spookcity/ROMS-G800F/issues/10#issuecomment-303099815
(This is the one I'm currently using)

Thanks for the reply. "yes" honest mistake / typo, to correct "the version I'm using is 20170515" (sorry). I've no objection turning on high accuracy mode, but keeping it off confirmed (at least in my mind) that the GPS sensor wasn't working as expected - turning on high accuracy mode obfuscated that fact (by using wi-fi / mobile signals to make up for lack of Satellite signals).

I hope my original question still stands up: "am i alone, or do other people have an issue with the GPS sensor not managing to lock onto satellites"
I am using "device only"-mode - this is just GPS.
It works but I used in former time devices that lock faster ....

One other question:
Is it possible to switch S5mini off with home buttom (long press or double press).
I know there is the double tap to sleep in status bar, but I often fail with this.
