hello, can this update be isntalled on S7 ACTIVE (android 6) unlocked to use in Italy?
Yes,why not? But don't expect full language menu support, most of things will remain in English. If the samsung keyboard does not support Italian(most likely it will), you may have to use gboard. I use it in Bulgaria and don't have any problems at all.

Hey guys!

Quick question - I have never updated my S7 Active since I purchased it. It is still running Android 7.0 (G891AUCS2BQH1). Can I update it directly to the ROM from the post #117 or do I have to do any in-between updates? I have never done this so I don't want to screw!

Cheers :)

Right - so I went ahead and I am now running the ROM from #117. I also tidy up the phone using the instructions on #79.

Everything seems to work fine apart from the Fingerprint scanner - it does not allow me to set up because it constantly prompts a message 'Attention - Make sure the Home key is clean and dry, then try again'.

Is this an issue with the ROM? It always worked fine!

Cheers

If cleaning the cache and reset does not resolve the problem, the fingerprint should be replaced. I replaced mine and now working properly.

Hi there :)

But it has worked for years, including this morning - it just started failing after the software upgrade. I wouldn't say it is a hardware issue!

I have tried to wipe out the app cache/data, wipe out the cache partition, start the phone on safe mode (fingerprint did not work either), ran the *#0*# and the fingerprint test failed and even a factory reset! Should I flash back to Android 7.0? Any other ideas?

EDIT: I also tried to flash again the room from #117 and the one from #1 - same issue, all works apart from the fingeprint :( I have noticed that when I boot up the phone for the first time it says that there was an authorised attempt to factory reset the phone and that I need to log into my account to verify the phone/account.

Cheers,
Fer

Did you flash userdata file? Some says that userdata should not be flashed, I don't remember whether I flashed it...

Nope, I flashed all the other ones apart from User Data.

I haven't managed to find a solution, tried it all, but no fingerprint!

Try to flash rom from post #117 and if it does the same thing try a different usb cable/ or connect to different usb port. and also check your volume up button (maybe stuck because it is used to enter recovery.) If that doesn't work maybe its another issue.

When you flashed it, did Odin says PASS! In green color?
Are you able to reboot in recovery mode?

Yes it show a pass but when you try to get it to recovery mode it takes a while but it can be done. I have factory reset it about 100 times now.

Ps thanks for replying
