Thank u for the reply but I found a way to get the G930U firmware to work on G930A. I think that might be better as then I will get OTA updates. By the way will I get OTA updates for G930U outside the US
Yes its better to install G930U, and you will receive OTA updates no matter where you live

Tried Flashing G930AUCS8CRJ2 with Patched Odin again with untick auto-reboot but I was unable to enter in Android Recovery mode to reset. When rebooting (Home + power + volume up) its goes to same black screen and blue letters "Recovery Booting..." as before, and mins later starts again the cycle of "installing system updates" and bootlop.
Have you tried holding power, tapping volume up (press and release while holding power) then release power? Do this after the "recovery booting", you may need to do it a couple times as there's a bit of a delay before it works.

Cheers

New firmware update. Can't find way to get firmware locally so I can patch boot.img with magisk. Does OP have link to firmware zip? I'm not rooted so can't access /cache from phone. Would appreciate a link to March or April's firmware files.

Actually, newer update bugging me to install. Crazy fascists.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using XDA Labs

Unbricked my phone

So what happened today is, I boughed Open Box Samsung Galaxy S7 ATT (SM-G930A) from Ebay! at very cheap price. A spare phone actually.
It was on Android 6.0 and I tried to update but OTA was not available as I am using T-mobile. I could have wait 1 week to get ATT sim and update the phone but thought to flash rom from online. Checked some articles and downloaded 1 Stock rom for 8.0 and tried flashing it. As soon as the process started it failed bith Binay old. SW blah blah blah 8 > 4. I google and wanted me to update flash binary. But the problem is the last rom I flashed was back in 2012 I guess so I was not sure, if I should proceed. Then checked some videos on Youtube and tried installing some 3rd party software but it did not work to clean partition the device. Downloaded 3 roms in total before this and all failed with same reason. Then came up with this article and thought to try my luck and it got installed successfully in around 7 minutes. Phone is bit slow now but I will give it a bit time to settle as so many apps are getting installed or I will delete the Cache partition tomorrow.
Ultimately, this rom fixed the issue I created and it works fine.

Question - Is your standby drain as bad as mine on AUCUCASF1?

standby on LTE = 6% / hr at night (no AOD)
standby on UMTS = 0.6% / hr at night (no AOD)

this is using AccuBattery

My sisters g930a receiver an update recently. Phone started to freezing, overheating and rebooting randomly. It got the newest G930AUCSACSH3 firmware. I tried to flash it with some older firmware but it wont let me do it anyting but G930AUCUACSF1, I guess its only firmware with the same bootloader. Anyway with this firmware its doing the same thing and its not usable. What can I do. Is there any different version of binary i can use?
