I was was a little disappointed when I saw that deal. I have had my Edge for 9 months and I'm paying $33 a month. I would jump on the $15 deal in a second. I would double the payments to pay it off in a year.
Is there a way to pay down your balance quicker? I was hunting in the my Verizon app and it made it seem I could only pay down my remaining balance on the phone. Not say throw an extra hundred at it here and there.

Good point, I didn't think about that. But I'm sure there is a way. You would have to call Verizon to find out I guess. You could always put some money aside each month until it reaches enough to pay it off. I known that's harder saying than doing.

When I asked about early pay off over the phone, they said that it's actually still a $33 payment with an $18 bill credit and the account has to remain in good standing with the payment agreement in place in order to receive the monthly credit. So realistically, I could pay an extra $18/month to equal the bill credit and then it'd be paid off in about 15 months. Either way, if this phone doesn't miraculously get unlocked sometime in the next 6 months, I'll probably give it to my FIL, retire my old Nexus 6 that he's got now, and move onto something else. I'm coming from a line of unlocked devices that I modded the **** out of so this is going to be tough now doing much to it...

Yea this brush method sounds like some sort of ODIN hack that lets a user flash individual parts into a s7, like mix and match. So you could get a unlocked boot-loader with a Verizon operating system. Problem is, there really is no way to tell how that method truly functions or how to do the process yourself. Guess we wait and see if any further details emerge.
i think brush means flashing

The best one is the unbranded "U" XAA firmware version with no carrier bloatware.
In fact there's no way to unlock the bootloader of any US version S7/S7edge phones or any other Samsung for that matter, but flashing the unbranded "U" firmware can open up all the bands on the phone, provided that the network is unlocked.
Just go to this rooting guide, and you'll find two firmware links for both the G930U and G935U US models, which can be flashed on any version (A=ATT, T=TMO, V=VZW, P=SPR).
