to be clear, if I were to flash the verizon firmware onto my phone (U1) with the userdata file, would i get all of the verizon features, like wifi calling, video calling, etc.? Those don't work on the unlocked version. Also, since it would then be technically a verizon phone, would it get the software updates pushed out to it from verizon? Or would i need to manually flash each update since it isnt an official vzw device?

Sorry for the n00b questions!

My experience thus far has been: NO.
You may get some like HD Voice and Visual Voice but no Video Calling.

But you can try maybe I did something wrong.
Just don't put your VZW sim in the phone until you have everything flashed VZW and boot with no sim, go through the necessary setup without the sim card then put the sim in after.

Maybe they got my IME and locked it in as a unlocked phone when I flashed the first verizion U1 firmware, then switched to the U firmware but I'm already flagged?

So I just flashed back to the stock U1 firmware, I tried everything to get a fully functional VZW phone but I think the IMEI numbers has to be within verizion's known block to get full provision. I say this because after I flashed my phone to a full verizion G960U, I mean boot up with the Hello VZW red splash and all the bloatware games and VZW apps like Hum? etc. But when I logged into my VZW account to activate HD Voice and what not I could see my phone profile was still SM-G960U1 and it has some other stuff with OD at the end. The tech I argued with said "OD" "open development" device and that would never get provisioned. Thats like a catch all flag for unlocked bootloaders, jailbroken, rooted, modified etc. I don't how correct he is about that but the profile still said U1 so I think they know which IMEI is a factory unlocked and which is not.

What USERDATA should be used with the U1 firmware? I have a U1 device which I flashed to VZW U_RBG (was having problems with a MVNO), and would like to return to U1_RBG.

EDIT: Interestingly, I saw all the VZW bloatware (e.g. Message+) after flashing, but after a factory reset (on the phone), I no longer see it, even though the phone reports the U build: R16NW.G960USQU1ARBG. Did the factory reset restore the stock U1 USERDATA?

I'm not certain where the userdata is flashed to but the most important thing is do you still have the Red Hello boot splash screen? I you still see that then your still on VZW version of the firmware.

Where'd you get the AT&T firmware? I've been looking a the other links and they didn't seem to work for me.
From the links in the first post....getting the userdata was the worse it would keep on saying complete after downloading 50mb.....had to use chrome and resume it bunch of times to get it fully downloaded

OK, so I finally got it to flash, though some of the info int he "about phone" says "U" and some says "U1". All the AT&T apps came over, but none work. Were you able to make them work on AT&T?

quick question

quick question, which files did you use? I too have the s9 unlocked

Did you use the 960u or u1 firmware to get everything loaded?

I have the unlocked which is u1 but was going to flash to the 960u to get calling plus working, is that what you did?

So got mine to take finally.
Sprint logo on bootup/shutdown and all.

Calling Plus working great.
Only down fall is visual voicemail is broken. They added it to app store for unlocked model too finally, but that one when on unlocked FW can never activate, similar to the apk installs people tried on unlocked ones.
On the sprint FW it just never gets notifications and you can't edit settings as they time out communicating though it says that shouldn't impact vm delivery (but it does).

So basically I have no way to know I got VM on either FW. Damn sprint....

But anyway what I had to do was go into recovery, factory reset with cache wipe and booted straight into download mode and flashed the 5 files. After reboot it all flipped over.

Have you tried the AT&T Call Protect? I did find a "modded" Odin that worked but the apps don't. Guess I will have to do as you suggested and try again.

Well I think it may be like another user pointed out,my phone may have gotten marked somehow. Either the IMEI or somthing, but none of the apps work. Got everything to flash but they don't work.
