I bought Pro when I bought my Thinkpad Tablet. Sold the tablet and now I can't use it on the Note2. Not compatible. They have a different version so I wrote them to complain and haven't heard back as of yet.

(heard/saw previously on the local news of which i can't remember) but they were not using android tablets, They used apple tablets and that school is probably for the rich people. anyways if my facts weren't correct? then i stand to be corrected.

8.9" not dead yet!

8.9" definitely has a future in my opinion... for one thing there's other 8.9 options out there from LG, so Samsung was not the only manufacturer...also Motorola have seen probably decent sales of their 8.2".... and I think the market will slowly shift as people realise that a 5" smartphone is too big, but a 7" tablet is too small. Look at how phones have slowly been getting bigger and bigger as firms compete with eachother...I think the same will happen with 7", which already has market movement towards 7.9" with the apple offering.

My prediction: Touch and type or 4" touchscreen phones, plus an 8 or 9" tab will become the normal/ideal combination... I'm not dedicated to Samsung, so next tab will be whoever makes a decent 4+1 core 8.9" tablet!

The only problem is not one 8.9-9" tab comes close to the Tab 8.9 in dime signs and weight and just overall design. They're all bigger and heavier including the LG, Lenovo, Sony and Fire. The LG isn't even 16:10. It's like trying to get a premium slider phone. Nobody cares, and they just ignore the whole demographic. And when one is made it's nothing but compromises, and people buy something else. Then they say, well nobody wants the form factors when in fact they do, they just don't want the compromise compared to the larger versions, or in case of the slider, playing 2nd fiddle to the premium slates.

I just don't see the allure of 9" when overall size and weight approaches that of the premium 10" models compared to the tab 8.9.

I think that 8.9" is the perfect size for a tablet. Here in Italy the P7300/P7310 is out of retails, but the LTE version is still avaible....
I think 8.9 is great for protablility, I've used an ipad 2 before, and while I thought it was comfortable to travel with, the ppi was lower and made reading suck. I use this tablet for pdf's for school and saves me printing a lot, plus its fun to have and great battery life compared to my laptop!

I think 8.9 is a great size, but I think that all major OEMs have decided that the future is in either budget friendly 7-inchers or in premium (iPad-competing) 10-inchers. I doubt we'll see a quality option in this size anytime soon.

Amazon and B&N are on the right track. Lenovo and Sony are not. If either of the former could trim the fat and add some connectivity, I'd bite. For what I use a tablet for, I could make either of those work whether I root or just live within their ecosystem.

Sony and Lenovo just have no clue why people want something less than 10" in a tablet.

I am another fan of the 8.9 size... but the soon to be launched Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 seems to be its closest successor?
Add me to the list of 8.9 fans. I started with a cheap Chinese 7" and it is too small for easy web viewing. IMHO the 10s are not nearly as easy to hold on your lap as an 8.9.

So, yep, the 8.9 is the Goldilocks size for me. Shame Samsung doesn't think like me!!!

I got on the 8.9 wagon myself, and am pretty disappointed I did. I think my best option would have been to hold out for the Sammy Note, and go with a 10.1" otherwise. The 8.9 has little support and it isn't nearly as useful IMO. It's like the awkward duckling.
Not sure I understand the disappointment. It's not as useful as other tablets? What does the 8.9 not do that you want it to do? I think the 8.9 form factor kills the 10" and 7" tablets because it's the perfect balance between weight and screen size. A 10" is too big to hold in one hand and I find a 7" too small for some tasks.

Pls i need some advice

I agree with you.. I love my 8.9 LTE. Fast light easy to hold. This is the perfect size.

I'm glad I got it.
Hello there, i purchased a samsung AT&T 8.9 sgh i957 from ebay early this year and after using it smoothly for 3 months my friend upgraded it to android version 4.0.4 , and ever since the the upgrade the touch-screen of the tab stopped working abruptly , although the upgrade was done against my wish cos i was absent when the upgrade was done.

I have since then made efforts to rectify the touch screeen issue by resetting the tab several times, removing the battery , the touch panel and taking it to some engineers but all to no avail :rolleyes: . Right now i use the dock to operate the tab but till now the touch screen hasnt responded.

I will appreciate any piece of advice from you
