I Just updated my phone to A515FXXU3BTD4(OneUI 2.1) Firmware and tried to patch using Canary Magisk. And it's works! Modules works too!

IDK. not seen his video.
I just downloaded one ui 2.1 firmware installed it. then from AP extracted boot.img and patched with magisk. Magisk still works after 3 reboots

Yes. i installed Magisk just like in this video.

tried this since the video was released and no success. it does root, but when I install any modules, it losts root and even if I flash the patched boot, root is not restored, so I have to flash the firmware all over again. I also tried to patch the whole firmware, wich does not work, gives vbmeta error.
what's the rigth procedure, am I missing something? thanks

It's sounds like new magisk safe mode or new magisk bug.

After installing do Wipe data/factory reset in recovery
Then you need Terminal Emulator (Like Termux) do su command and then write "setenforce 0" and check with "getenforce" it's should say Permissive

p.s. how does this magic happen? what resources (in terms of hardware) are needed for this, and where to get the instructions - I doubt that I can do it - on an old computer with a small amount of RAM and a small disk, but still, maybe someone will add instructions. that to endlessly do not distract map220v

Hello. I thank you for helping. Unfortunately this is not successful for me. I saw - carefully studied your and other posts, followed all the links and saw all your and other discussions on other sites. Many times I tried to get the download patch on my own, with my hands and with the help of all tools and programs. I could not make friends the latest firmware from the Samsung with the latest version of gsi. apparently this is not mine. I decided this is my last device from Samsung and the last device on android. I choose gnu in the future, especially since I always use push-button telephones for calls, because I need a normal connection and a long time work cellphone on expeditions. living at an electrical outlet was never mine. In general, Samsung - I do not love you anymore despite your beautiful screen
p.s. The latest gsi 216 firmware broke the display of the battery when charging, and after a reboot, the total operating time is reset, in the battery testimony. this is just what I noticed at the moment - the phone has not yet been set up. in the end, I crossed the last gsi and the penultimate firmware from Samsung, calmed down and stay on it for now, I like the unimaginable working time and cleanliness gsi. Thank you very much phhusson for his work(and I like his avatar ).
p.p.s. whenn i flash the patched boot.img it fails, it shows me "Blocked by 'OEM' Lock" even though i unlocked the oem lock before... what to do??? please help..

Did anybody try to install a Magisk module? I've tried to install Log Catcher, the installation succeeds, but after rebooting the module is not shown in the Module list, and it seems is not loaded needed. Magisk log shows no messages about it, and in /data/adb folders there are modules/logcat and modules_update/logcat

for me they're working ok. I rooted following Diamond Invisible's video on YouTube.

It doesn't work on my device, after flashing the patched boot.img it starts to bootloop... making more research I've found this

It seems my model (DBT) doesn't have binary 3 yet (which still I'm not sure what it means, not ever where to see the binary code when downloading the firmware)
