I'm quite surprised, I have big slowdowns too, I did a total reinstallation at a repairer. No changes after reinstalling all my apps thanks to samsung backup. in the end I had a marked improvement after uninstalling Gboard and the message app from Google. it's a shame because Samsung's apps suck, but I've already gotten some punch back.

I contacted samsung, with the attached files, they assume there is a problem on the I2c communication line (SDA/SCL), and ask me to have the repairman check the SCP display board.

Hi all,

I read somewhere that the issue is with Ram Plus (Virtual Ram) there is a way to disable it through adb.

To note that Samsung give the possibly to disable it on One Ui 5.0 on android 13 coming soon.

See link below: https://www.androidpolice.com/samsung-ram-plus-phone-how-to-disable/

Hope this help
This fix to set Ram Plus to zero works great! I did it on both my daughters A53 and my own A52s and both devices are a lot faster now. Thanks a lot!!

It is such an irony that a feature meant to boost performance in fact slows down performance. When you think of it is only logical that that if you introduce a portion of memory that is much slower than the “real” RAM, this storage-based memory will act as a heavy trailer and slow things down.

The supposed advantage with adding “RAM Plus” is to let more apps stay in memory and so to start up faster the next time you need the app. This may be true to some small amount, but the price seems to be that every little switch from one webpage to another or just switching from one app in memory to another just gets a bit sluggish. When I remove “RAM Plus” the sluggishness is gone!

The Ram plus feature is useful only when using RAM hungry applications while needing multitasking for the other. It will help app from crashing due to low memory but the speed will be low. The 6GB model is largely enough without RAM Plus. It can be useful for phones on 4GB or less phones( if the less still exist)

I install one ui 5.0, and that's worse than before. I already try a wipe cache, still the same than before, samedi if I disable ram plus.
I'll bring back this phone to the customer service... I can't use it...
If anyone has a solution.

Yes, the solution for you is to factory reset and avoid the apps that seems to harm your phone. If you install all apps one at a time and test out the phone in between you will eventually spot the offender. There really are no shortcuts here. I can see no problem with this phone when it comes to speed.

got a couple of questions for you.
1. what apps do you use ?
2. would you be ok making some compromises ?
3. how important is performance for you ?
I use a lot of apps, the majority are health apps, like "vidal". All theses apps worked perfectly on my old Xiaomi mi9 lite.
I use static wall papier, gbord and Google message to texte, Gmail, Facebook and Messenger, and chrome.
I didn't play on it.
And chrome totally freeze, i have a lot of difficultés answering on this forum.

I'm willing to compromise, but if it's to return to the level of my Xiaomi, there's a problem. I get the same configuration on this last.

Performance aren't veru important, but when i can't text, look on chrome, change between 2 apps, I can't continue like this.
Today I can't use my phone...
When I scroll down, it's going UP and down with freezes on chrome, settings, in any apps, and sometimes no problem.
If I push one of 3 buttons at the bottom, it's staying push and open "ok Google" or multi app screen. If I want to shutdown, i need to force it manually otherwise he wants to restant in secure mode... Because he considered that I maintien the power icon...

1. factory reset
2. use universal adb debloater to disable everything safe from miui and bloatware. you can disable stock launcher if you dont need gesture navigation (install custom launcher beforehand)
3. consider using gmail and facebook as shortcuts in google chrome. or use facebook lite. you could also consider using kiwi browser instead of chrome. its literally chrome + extensions (like ublock origin or dark reader)

Thanks, but if I need to do this, I'm going back to my old Mi9 lite which works better without these limitations. At 400€ MSRP, Samsung has no right to have so many problems with this phone.

I just got this phone (it came with Android 12 already installed) and I don't notice any lag. I had a Galaxy A21 and after it updated to Android 12 it became so slow I couldn't even use it.

    As an A53 user, I'd say I admit that's lagging. But, It's not device's bad, I think It's OS's bad.

I can say by using the S21 fe port that indeed stock rom is more laggy, if this was running pixel experience (I tried the gsi but it is too buggy and doesn't support proximity sensor for aod, so a nobrainer for me) it would run flawlessly and not studder (it ran like a charm on pe) however the os is not "bad" it is just unoptimized, the S21 port just debloats, so I'd try using Universal Android Debloater (or just manually remove packages from adb shell) to speed the device up. if you guys want oneui there is little you can do in optimizing stock rom, wait untill something like lineageos releases official for our device, then there will be a lot of more developments happening.

Temporary fix until software update hopefully can fix it.

    1. Install and use nova launcher
    2. Navigation bar buttons instead gestures.
    3. Keyboard lag use Gboard
    4. Messenger lag use google messenger.

It seems to fix most lag. It also seems to this is a software issues. Affecting Samsung apps and services. So delete all Samsung apps u can and disable the other u can't delete. Do not use any Samsung apps do not sign in to Samsung. Scrolling stutter only able to fix if screen is put to 60hrz but this isnt a 100% it still will occasionally stutter when scrolling webpages Facebook and so on but it is far less then with 120hrz.

But the 4 solutiona mentioned should fix most lag.

Also Facebook is a big resource hog. Even on an iPhone 13 it can stutter occasionally or even freezes specially in marketplace and makes the phone run hot. If you don't mind using the mobile version I would highly recommend using that instead the app.

I also think there is better devices for less mOney that even offer more but probably never get those 4 software updates. Like the Blu F91 BLU F91 5G | 2022 | 3-Day Battery | Unlocked | 6.8” Full HD+ Display | 128/8GB | 48MP Quad Camera | US Version | US Warranty | Sky Blue https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09WJM9XVW/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_FW76ZJAX9F1BWN35ZA5M?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 it has wireless fast charging and a gas charger in the box a case and screen protector and headphones. It's 5G and it's 250 dollars. This phone overall is a much better deal but the software probably will never or only be upgraded one time unfortunately.

I've had this phone almost a week now.. I have SwiftKey as my kb...

Can't say I've noticed any type of lag on this device... 120hz, dark mode background services running, wifi calling on you name it.

What are y'all even all the reviewers doing to experience lag??

Kind of would like to know lol
