I confirm root is working with the "ladies & gentleman" instructions

I remember it was in boot loop and a yellow warning message appeared but after 20 loops it started in root and works smooth until now

ROOT
Your KNOX status will be tripped if you follow this tutorial...
What's knox ? : https://www.google.com/search?q=samsung+knox+explained

-Download the latest stock firmware for your Samsung Galaxy A71 with Samfirm/Frija app (faster) or Samfrew/Sammobile website (way slower).

https://samfrew.com/model/SM-A715F/

-Extract the SM-A715XX_1_EXAMPLE_0000000000_fac.zip file with 7zip or any other unzipper.

-Copy the (AP_A715XXXXU1XXXX_CL00000000_QB00000000_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT_meta_OS10.tar.md5) file and transfer it to your internal storage.

-Download and install Magisk Manager APK https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/download/manager-v7.5.1/MagiskManager-v7.5.1.apk

-Open Magisk Manager and go to Install > Install > Select and Patch a file.

-Navigate through the storage and select the extracted AP file.
The firmware will be patched and will be found in Internal Storage/Download/magisk_patched.tar.

-Transfer the patched file to your PC.

-Turn OFF your device and boot into DOWNLOAD MODE.

-In Odin, click on AP and select the patched tar file, Uncheck “Auto Reboot” and click on Install.

The tool will flash Magisk V20 on your Samsung Galaxy A71.

To boot in recovery or boot the system with Magisk installed:

1. Powering up normally → System without Magisk
2. Power + Volume Up → Bootloader warning → Release all buttons → System with Magisk
3. Power + Volume Up → Bootloader warning → Keep holding volume up → Actual recovery
After bootloader unlock or magisk installed can I update phone with software update(stock recovery) or i need full odin package??

After root update only with odin

---------- Post added at 01:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:10 PM ----------

Still, after all the postings, there are several posters in writing or by youtube-links explaining how they got root working, though there is none where I see a (working) step-by-step guide without referring to other postings etc. This makes it all very very confusing.
It would be nice if there would be a "final" posting in wich from plain un-rooted phone to working rooted one with a "step 1, step2 steps " hide here, without referrals to earlier postings....
Since there is no such guide, it has all become very unclear what method(s) work and wich just dont.
Im no programmer whatsoever but with all respect,
this is the messiest thread i have ever been in

Therefor i hope someone takes the effort in sorting things out...

:good:

I hope this helpfull
Thanks so much for your video! Followed it step by step and all went like a charm :D
Great work!
I'm happy to know that my a71 root tutorial video worked for you, and I was happy to read the video commentary when I saw all the successfully rooted on their device

have to be patient in rooting a71,
as long as you follow the steps correctly what I did in my video ... you will definitely succeed in rooting.

2 additional steps after root:

1. After successful rooting, please open Magisk...
download and install (in menu download on magisk) :
# riru core
# riru edxposed yahfa
then reboot.
2. install edxposed and safetynet.apk

Or follow this step (link download safetynet.apk) :
https://youtu.be/pkWjEZe6p74

functions to normalize cts/safetynet.

if the magisk cts/safetynet is normal, then in all applications and in the system it reads normally

Hi guys, sorry for asking a dumb question, but I haven't bought this phone yet. Can the phone's bootloader be unlocked if it is still being paid for? Or would I need to have T-Mobile unlock it first? Thinking about getting it when I add a line since it would be so cheap, but I need it rooted. Thanks

Hello, in the middle of the process of updating the mobile, I enter fastboot mode, I managed to get out of the mode, update and everything is fine, I updated again and then the mobile turned off by itself. And to turn it on I had to press all 3 buttons at the same time. No matter how hard I tried to calibrate the battery, and did full cleaning. Due to this I decided to root, at the moment it has not turned off alone.
If you could do a favor and tell me if I flash a clean stock rom again, will the root be deleted? Is that I need the application of online banks.
If positive, would I have to wait for the rom to settle, so that the battery does not decalibrate again?

Thanks in advance

I purchased an unlocked international model [SM-A715F]. I downloaded Odin and the latest USB driver and Frija and my CSC is TPA, and Extracted SM-A715F_1_20200822065834_xxxxxxxxx_fac. and downloaded the firmware.
Since it's an unlocked phone, do I skip the bootloader unlocking?
I guess I don't need to flash the CSC since I don't have any data yet. I have not inserted the sim card (Cricket) yet and have not connected to the internet. I want to get it rooted first.
I Copied the (AP_A715XXXXU1XXXX_CL00000000_QB00000000_REV00_use r_low_ship_MULTI_CERT_meta_OS10.tar.md5) to internal storage.

Then I should open Magisk Manager and go to Install > Install > Select and Patch a file.
-Navigate through the storage and select the extracted AP file.
The firmware will be patched and will be found in Internal Storage/Download/magisk_patched.tar.
I transfer the patched file to my PC.

-Turn OFF your device and boot into DOWNLOAD MODE.
-In Odin, click on AP and select the patched tar file, Uncheck “Auto Reboot” and click on Install.
The tool will flash Magisk V20 on your Samsung Galaxy A71.

Is that the correct order? My head is spinning and I don't want to brick my phone.

Thank you for your work and your help is appreciated.

Just read further in your original post saying to someone "you can't root without unlocking bootloader". I think that answers my question. Any other tips are appreciated.
Thank you again, Tom

Followed your video instructions and successfully obtained root. Thank you very much for the video.

I have a question. In the future if there is a Magisk update, would it be safe to use Direct Install method to upgrade Magisk? Or do we have to patch the file yet again?

I hope you can tell me what I'm doing wrong. I downloaded the firmware and used Odin to install. My bootloader is unlocked. Downloaded and installed the latest Magisk Manager APK. I Open Magisk Manager on my phone and try to go to "Install > Install > Select and Patch a file".
I get no way to "Select and Patch a file'. I've gotten this far. RED "Magisk not installed" and GREEN "Magisk Manager is up to date". I can't navigate to the file I put on the phone. What am I missing?

Oh man, it was the most painful cell rooting I've done in my life. the number of steps and problems were incredible, at one point I wondered why I had gotten into such troubles, but finally mounting system from recovery was the magic cure.
Still I can't believe how there is not a version of TWRP for this device...

Still, I have not seen clear straight forward start-to-end instruction described here, there are some, but referrimg to point xx in other threads, wich make it all unclear what to do at wich point.
Also a video, wich seems to work, but in Spanish with subtitle, wich is not helpfull due to chance of missing essentials.
Until that, im satisfied the way the phone is from factory, and coop with the samsung bs meanwhile...

I've done so many things that it's hard to me remember all in detail, but basically I've followed the Cyber Axe instructions, and then I had to mount system from stock recovery, and from then on I never had to press volume up button again to boot the phone with magisk activated.
