I see that the twrp 2.7 is up for the tmo n3. Does anyone have a way to get such and unlocked bootloader for dev edition?
I don t know if samsung will update this device. We just need a bootloader that flashes on this dev ed and allows a custom recovery.
Can I flash a 4.4 aosp or tw or I need special recovery /boot.img to b able to do this?
I am on mje with twrp 2.6.3.10 and b6 and colx kernel.
TIA
I just installed and tested the 2.7 for 4.3 TWRP and is fine. Install pacman rom & cm11 with TWRP 2.6.3.10 + also fine. More I hear about Kitkat the less I like. Just be sure to keep using the recoverys designed for 4.3.I see that the twrp 2.7 is up for the tmo n3. Does anyone have a way to get such and unlocked bootloader for dev edition?

I suspect the same, although I think the culprit is Verizon in this. I don't think Samsung cares.I'm thinking the reason samsung won't give us the goods is that we'll be able to use it to unlock the retail guys.

At the end I want to b able to run a tw 4.4 and/or a AOSP.I just installed and tested the 2.7 for 4.3 TWRP and is fine. Install pacman rom & cm11 with TWRP 2.6.3.10 + also fine. More I hear about Kitkat the less I like. Just be sure to keep using the recoverys designed for 4.3.

I'm not going to lose any sleep pining for 4.4. If all you want is tw then the retail version would do. Right now 4.3 is just a number because this phone rocks! At the end I want to b able to run a tw 4.4 and/or a AOSP.
Not cool if we get stuck on 4.3 bootloaders forever. not cool.
Sammy should be able to update 4.3 to 4.4 official such that we can get the booloader upgraded.
Right...
I agree that this phone rocks. To bad that sammy does not.I'm not going to lose any sleep pining for 4.4. If all you want is tw then the retail version would do. Right now 4.3 is just a number because this phone rocks!

Dev edition not being updated is sammy fault. Device is not even sold by verizon.Yeah but the real tyrants are VZW & AT&T samsung wouldn't care.

Is it kk based?Saw over at the Dirty Unicorn g+ community that a N3 rom is in the works.Love it on my nexus 7! Hopefully it will work with our DE.
It's based on Omnirom so it will be I guess. Is it kk based?
Honestly the only reason IMO if you want a Dev edition is to develop of course and to run asop Roms, flash kernels ect. If you're really not into asop or developing, then there really is no reason to get one. Then, who do we blame for the constant back order status?
I'm pretty sure that samsung would love to sell devices that people seems to be very interested.
Also, since I noted several of you selling the devices, can I assume that is not longer worth it getting one if it ever comes back to the store?
You can install Beans rom on a retail device. You have to root, then install Safestrap, then load Beans rom.My main reason to get a DE would be to be able to flash whatever ROM I can. Got burned twice by locked bootloaders and vericroocks almost pulled the same thing with the Gnex.
Now, I'm a complete noob, but my understanding is that beans cannot be installed on a retail unit, but from your post, looks like is possible. is this the case?
I just don't want a locked device that would force me to upgrade just because the carrier decides for me.
Ok, interesting. You can install Beans rom on a retail device. You have to root, then install Safestrap, then load Beans rom.
Dev Edition units are solely beneficial to anyone who wants to run a rom with AOSP kernel, or install roms "clean". But safestrap works with basically anything you find in "Android development Section" (unless otherwise specifically noted).
If you're paying full price for unlimited data then get the DE, you'll have more options down the road. I'm loving the TW roms too but in a year or so, aosp will breathe new life into the device.Honestly the only reason IMO if you want a Dev edition is to develop of course and to run asop Roms, flash kernels ect. If you're really not into asop or developing, then there really is no reason to get one.
I bought a Dev ed only to run beans ROM. I bought it with intentions to run asop. But tw just rubbed off on me as well as beans ROM. I flashed asop Roms only to flash back to beans and have no desire to run asop Roms. So that's why I sold mines.
Hope this helps. Just IMHO.
