Update to Reboot nvbackup solved

Update,
My DE is backup and running after 6 weeks hacking.

I found that my FSG and backup partitions were corrupted by a command that Samsung should have removed from all Note 3's. Our Note-3's will brick if the command "reboot nvbackup" is sent. I updated my thread with the fix, which is simple:

  • confirm FSG is corrupt with hex editor
  • backup existing partitions using latest EFS professional just in case
  • copy paste a clean FSG and backup.to /dev/block

detailed fix is here:

Nope. You can put whatever baseband you want on it. You just can't Odin a firmware image from a retail note 3.

Then I could use some instruction if you don't mind. Currently running Beans deodox NC4 and the hashcode kernel. Was I supposed to flash the NC2 kernel in beans thread too? I thought I was supposed to get the kernel from the thread from hashcode or use a lean kernel. (Tried both). Where do I find the zip and instructions to flash the baseband?

Don't be confused, the only thing we are stuck with is the bootloader and kernals that work with it. Basically kernals compatible with Jellybean 4.3. The baseband aka modem can be flashed with Odin, however, many are finding mje is the best. So we can run the 4.4 Kitkat rom and choose among several kernals and/or modems!

Thanks Lillie. I just have trouble wrapping my head around this stuff. I need the kindergarten type instructions to do some of this stuff. I'll stick with MJE until I hear of something changing then. That's better anyway. Now I don't have to go look for the Odin instructions.

I might buy one of these I just want a stable cm11 with the old radio back so I got a stable data connection :( not sure if I could dd the current cm11 I need text and everything working stable for my job and texting my gf. And stable calls and data. Then I'll keep my retail note 3 for backup or vice versa.

I would go back to the mje modem, modem only and wait for cm to develop more.

Okay ill try that thanks Lillie :) hopefully in a few months I can switch to Dev edition with stable CM11. One question though... When android 5.0 or L as I've heard it referred to comes out. Will it make its way to the vzw note 3 Dev edition along with art?

No, not via Samsung. Samsung provides zero support for the DE.

However, yes via Cyanogenmod. ART has been an option in CM11 since it hit our device 6 months ago. And a few of the features of Android L are starting to show up in CM11.
