I'm fine with the Note 3 as is, I'm just hoping we get root because I've never seen so much bloatware on a phone.

3 years ago I would have jumped at the idea of a Dev edition, but my GNex seems to have cured my addiction to custom ROMS, these days I just need a solid device that allow me to remain productive and the Note III more than fits the bill. I guess I'm getting old..lol

Root will surely come, just have to be patient. I bet maybe someone is working in silence to get stuff worked outed and make sure it's solid. You never know. And it's crap timing as always with when the dev devices pop up. It really does seem like they plan this stuff out. And maybe not everyone will want to get a Dev Edition at full price. Sucks not everyone can do that. And also you never know how many devs will really want to get a dev device.

Hmmm...so the Dev version is apparently coming out the first week of November. I'm assuming the difference between that and the regular VZW GN3 is that it has an unlocked bootloader, (ability to root?) Anything else? Is it also safe to say it will be more than the retail price I paid for my regular GN3 ($699.99?)

Lol @ those who told me a dev edition will not be available ;)

Beans is planning on getting one...So if you want to run one of his customized TW roms, you will need a Dev edition.

Even with Odin files, root is not guranteed...Verizon trying to keep devices from being rooted because that is the entrance into all other possible exploits and gives one the ability to debloat and block Ads which = money! They do not want you to have that priviledge on a subsidized device. look how long it took the S4 to get root after the update...also how will knox affect achieving root? This stuff is no walk in the park like it use to be.

Yeah I saw this on the interwebz today. Great news if you have not yet bought a Note 3, but it kinda sucks for those that did (myself included). I'll probably sell my stock Note 3 and take a $75-100 loss, but that is the price you pay to be an early adopter. :(

Whats the price estimated to be for a 32gb version? I've been a longtime Verizon customer but I'm quickly growing tired of their ways. When the last dev edition phone came out they weren't letting people put insurance on them in the beginning.

I bought one for $750 but I can still return mine to Verizon and get money back no big deal. And hope the note 3 developer edition is only $699

$699 I wouldn't think it would over $699. & I hate this about Verizon

Same here. I really want to get the dev edition for the sake of running ROMs but 700 is super steep right now, although there is the option to finance one lol

Did you have an upgrade through Verizon??

I guess that's one good thing about paying retail lol

I thought that the dev editions could not be bought with an upgrade. I don't have one available but it just dawned on me that I have a 64gb ifake 5 sitting on my nightstand that I can sell to fund my n3 dev edition.

I was on the fence about whether or not to wait for the Developer Edition Note 3 (almost bought a retail version today), but your post makes my decision easy.
