I searched this thread but didn't find anything....

I still have sound coming out of the earpiece will headphones are plugged into the 3.5mm jack. Anyone else have this issue? If so, can it be fixed or do I have to revert back to the stock mixer file?

My device is a Snapdragon Note8 BTW.

It's a mystery in exynos but I'm betting and will try to verify my theory later...

If you'd like to try it as well, do it at your own risk...
It seems the earpiece controller is also Bluetooth controller, I noticed slight difference when I defined the control as global, what I'd suggest is copy those lines inside bluetooth "bt-media I think?" by removing
" />" into "> insert lines </path>" and increase the value more and carefully test it...

Or you can wait for me...

ROM...?
Wrong Thread...?

LMAO... Sorry, that's what happens on 36 hrs w no sleep and thinking you can still" multitask". Been wondering why I never saw a response in the thread for which that was intended. Although I am a happy user of your dual speaker mod and I must say, fine fine work. Couldn't be happier with the results.

Your device isn't the first, I'll need a logcat so I could disable the earpiece when you plug the jack, the earpiece works because to bypass some audio policy where the MOD doesn't work...

I'll be able to fix it once I get a logcat...

Yes, I read that in your main thread. No worries, I completely understand. I post a logcat one day soon after I reapply the mod. Thanks.

Is there any way of increasing the bluetooth headset media audio volume on the Exynos Note 8? I've attempted to modify mixer_gains.xml but, unlike most of the options there, there's what appears to be a path there :

<path name="gain-media-bt-sco-headset">
</path>

With no option to modify the gain. Since I'm not familiar with how this all works, I can't see a way of increasing the volume. It'd be really helpful, since I run with my headphones on and would prefer not to use aux cables which seem to break every other week. The bluetooth volume is so low compared to the volume through a modified mixer_gains / aux cable, at least 10db lower.

Hi!
The sound from the call earpiece is more bassy and natural/pleasant than from the main speaker? Why?

^ @ OP Dante63, it's a shame there is very little to no feedback with regards to your speaker mod. I have just tried it on my rooted Note 8 Exynos Dual sim edition.

I simply flashed it via TWRP recovery and rebooted. It is working 100% fine, no bootloop or any other issues. It sounds very good, I am satisfied with how it sounds and the fact the upper earpiece is well balanced, though not as loud as the bottom speaker, but it sounds clear and makes a big difference regarding audio output.

It makes movies, music and games much more enjoyable to listen to and it is far better than having a single lower mono speaker working which I hate seeing especially on a high end flagship!

Hopefully others will leave feedback instead of trying/using the mod without reporting back, lazy they are!

Thanks for your hard work, I definitely recommend it.

Finally got around to trying this. Wanted to give it ample time to fine-tune before I used it.
Just installed TWRP version. Never could get the magisk version working.
Works great. Tried several genres even quite taxing music plays fine and doesn't worry me at all.
Thank you!

I also decided to finally give this a try. It works well enough. The ear piece adds just that little extra to make the sound seem a little "fuller". It's not a proper stereo solution and it doesn't make a really big difference, but it's alright. The ear piece plays only the left channel while the bottom speaker still plays both channels. It would be nice if we could send only the right channel to the bottom speaker, but seeing as how much louder it is, the music/audio will seem really unbalanced. Maybe Samsung will add a proper solution (maybe similar to how the S9 works? I don't know if that is at all any better) in the Android P update.

EDIT: I decided to read up on the S9's speakers and I realise now they were specifically created and engineered for the way they work, so we likely won't see an implementation of this in a future update, much less one similar to the S9's :(

if you were able to downlaod then you probably saw that there is an 'original' zip. or if it was the magisk module then just remove it in magisk manager

    EXYNOS MOD:

    IMPORTANT NOTICE:
The MOD can be used with any Equalizers, but wouldn't recommend it...
If using Equalizer will cause crackles and noise, stop using and report back please so I could decrease the default volume...

The pics will show the "main" items to change for volume increase (bass and treble settings to your liking....just be sure to enable the tabs of the items you want to hear changes to)
And lastly remember each sound output will have its own config page ie headset, bluetooth etc.

So would I be safe using this mod alongside of viper for the snapdragon phones? Also am I just flashing this with flash fire?
Indeed it seems he has taken over lol...

Alexander, looks like Lou got you taken care of, I was just saying what I'd read...That's a good compromise of the two audio mods. Will have to try that one. Thanks again lou! And yes, you too Dante! :)

It was advised not to use any equalizers with this mod... the mod is set to where it doesn't crackle etc... anything beyond is with the use of EQ is at the users own risk...
Same... I also prefer the copy/paste/change permission method as it just feels more complete/manual ...

If only if you want to use any amplifiers/equalizers, the volume in the mixer file for the earpiece must be adjusted at lower level to avoid damage to the earpiece...
I'll post the code you need to modify yourself, AGAIN the volume I put should be safe, if you decide to INCREASE it above what I put at least make sure not even a slight noise, distortion or crackle...

Why I didn't set to the max volume, some music are amplified by default, in other words they are loud by default, it's like when you watch a prank video with your headset on loud volume and someone screams you'd say "rip ears", it's similar "rip earpiece", I set it to the max safe level possible so any change in music levels wouldn't do any harm to it...

He means running a risk modifying the values in the file itself. The mod as it is does not introduce crackle or any other bad effects......as always the risk is yours as this is a MOD running outside of sammy specs.

Throughout my testing I've been doing the copy, paste, set permissions then reboot method and it works 100%. I use root explorer, also while noticeable it is not omnipresent...try a video file, hold phone landscape at a comfortable distance and listen for the effect. You didn't by chance install the "stock" file he posted did you?

    Please Help....
I only want to increase headphone volume

Currently, I am working on supporting Snapdragon phones...

I'll look at volume levels later...
