Are you sure about this ?
I mean... in a previous post you have said that you have tried 2.3.5 ( that if i'm not wrong it's KI3) and the problem wasn't solved...
Now are you saying that kg2 solve the problem?
Yes, i'm sure...They say sometimes the new or best one became the worst one...

I confirm that my wifi does not lose its connection after 12 hours. I am on the Revolution Rom 2.5 and Ninphets 2.0.5 kernel.

Hi guys...Look what i have found...This man had the same problem in HTC smartphone...He wrote a letter to HTC and this is the answer...
I'll give in original form and you have to translate with translate.google.com (it is in Danish):

My router is only b/g. Some days ago i've set it to only g mode, but the problem is still there.

KI3 at the mo, KE7 worked too as did all the other versions that I tried. I can only think it is a router problem causing it.

I came across this site about wifi and android debugging. I'm not specifically saying it will fix the problem but it might be interesting just to confirm the basics. It also touches on compatibility.

Credit to the author of course...http://searchnetworking.techtarget.com.au/articles/41635-How-to-fix-Android-Wi-Fi-problems

Curiously for me my 2nd router which is Netgear is not causing me this problem anywhere near as often! It is so old it doesn't support WPA2 but WPA1 is ok. So we have compatibility issues...explains why only some people see the behavior

Got it to work finally!!

I have been flashing roms and rooting for months but i just faced this wifi problem today and it was driving me crazy until i could fix it.. read around the forums and i tried flashing stock rom again and that seemed to fix the problem.

i was looking for just modem files but couldnt find so flashed intratechs KI8 FW with KI4 modem and this has fixed wifi problem and can finally access net again..

This makes me wonder if the problem occured while flashing the insecure kernel for rooting. But i sure did flash original kernel after and wifi was working fine for 2 days before it gave it.. so still cannot locate source of problem if any of u have suggestions then might help the many others having same problem. I would suggest flashing a stock rom and testing it out for few days without rooting to see if problem still persists.

I've flashed official kg5 1 hour ago, but i've just noticed the problem... :(

I've always had a stock rom (kg1, now kg5) but the problem is always been there.

Ok, I give up.
After a long time in which I've tried every solution to this problem, I announce that GsII defeat me.
I've tried a lot of thing, such use a static ip or dynamic ip, i've changed various wifi channel on the router....I've tried to disable "fast dormancy", I've tried various program to stabilize wifi, I've tried to disable power save mode (write *#232338# and a new menu with power save option of wifi will appear).
I've tried to change a lot of settings in the router but nothing has solved the problem. Finally I've also tested different firmware version, all stock version. (KG1, KG5, KI3, KI8)

In my case, it's not only a wifi problem, because also if I use the data connection, sometimes internet doesn't works and I need to disable and re-enable data connection to make it properly works. For this and other reasons, I think that it's not a router problem but a problem of gsII, or in general, of Android. In fact, googling around, I've discovered that also other smartphones android have this problem, not only GsII.

However, I've bypassed the problem using Green Power... I've set that he start the wifi for 1 minute every 15 minute and also he enable wi-fi when I turn on the screen.
The problem is still there, but in this way it doesn't annoys me anymore.

Ok. Get tough. Download a ROM that I use; Rarity ROM. Search on the web for it. I have no probs with wifi on the roms I have tried; you can always go back.

I had this problem on a stock rom, than i flashed cm7, and wifi was working fine. I mean, I didn't notice this wifi problem on cm7 rom.
Yesterday I flashed checkRom and, I think, the problem is back again. I am not entirely sure 'cos i was testing for only one day, i will give it few more days..

Anyway, since it worked on cm7, it is not a hardware issue, it must be OS-related.
Problem sould not be related to modem fw, because wifi is managed by kernel. since flashing kernels, as people in this thread done enough, does not solve it:

I think it is a problem with network service.
so the solution should be to look how this service is done in cm7, and applying it to other rom.

i will post an update when i have any real solution to this(if i'll have any success)
