I get infinite System UI stopped working loop with Motion ROM, I guess I should send logs but I don't know how to do that without being able to access anything

I've downloaded the zip file from the above nougat link and got an apk file of SYSTEMUI. So should i consider it directly installable and applicable over my lollipop system's ui or does it take some kind of rooting or flashing?
