There's no media control on the lock screen..I just hate unlocking my phone just to skip to the next song.

just pull down the Notification bar. it's there. and you don't need to unlock the screen to access the Notifications

No mass storage mode, and slide to adjust screen brightness are two things I miss from my old captivate.

I love the phone, but have noticed that it isn't very well balanced for one handed use. By that, i mean that the top of the phone is heavier than the bottom, so I'm finding myself hooking my pinky finger over the bottom to keep it from falling out of my hand. You can really notice this if you put a finger in the middle of the phone and try to balance it. This probably isn't a big deal of you have large hands. I don't, so i can't get my fingers up to the balance point and still be able to type with my thumb.

The ui is pretty Damn nice to me. I got the evo 4g lte with sence 4 and the TOUCHWIZ was much simpler to do things.I love it i had the galaxy nexus and stock android is boring just to plain i like the layers the company's put on android phones. These phones are fast enough with bloat but it's never gonna be enough. The best thing about android is everyone can customize there phone to there liking.

The main annoyance I have is that when I'm on wifi (which happens to be 99% of the time) it hogs a spot in the notification bar. I KNOW I'm on wifi, there's an icon at the top, you don't need a whole other bar thank you very much. :( And i haven't found a way to remove it yet, but in the grand scheme of things it's a small thing indeed.

Also i miss the CRT animation. But when I get around to installing custom ROMS and stuff I'll get all that :D

For now Touchwiz is good enough. I'm willing to wait a while as the devs figure out just what they can do with this thing.

oh! I almost forgot how i try to download apps that i had on my captivate and it says my device isn't compatible. :/ suuuuuuuuuuuure.

im really annoyed that they stock android keyboard isn't installed.

i hate how the samsung one does the predictive crap and if you spell something wrong you have to backspace the whole word or it only spells from where you stopped deleting

idk if that makes sense?

i know i can get ones from play store, im back to using swift key

just really enjoyed stock android keyboard

The vibration!!! No matter what I set the "device vibration" pattern to, it defaults to "basic phone" the 2 second long BZZZZZZZZZ instead of the usual 0,250,250,250 pattern of android. Drives me nuts. I was able to set it in my messaging app (tibu restore from cm9) for sms but gtalk, calendar, anything else that triggers a vibrate notification is an obnoxiously long vibration...

http://community.sprint.com/baw/message/439450

Anyone know of a way to override that? Even if it involves editing system files, I have no problem doing that. I just have no idea where to look.

My biggest annoyance thus far is that Gmail syncing with the Gmail app isn't as instant as it was on my old Captivate. Sometimes the S3 won't even alert me that I have new e-mail until I manually refresh the Gmail app. Not sure if that's the phone's fault or if Gmail needs to be updated.

That is the problem I have at work. I believe the issue is the WiFi access at work is blocking the phone from connecting to the Google servers. That is the only reason I can think that you wouldn't have instant notifications.

It's currently not completely working for the SGSIII (the notification light remains green all the time when the screen is turned off), but if you can deal with that, Light Flow can fix it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflowlite

You can set the vibrate and notification sound and all that stuff for most regular apps in the free version. There's a paid version that takes control of just about every app, I think. But the dev is trying to figure out a "color shift" issue or something. http://www.folioflow.com/ff/page/website/lightflow/pageId/1826

This was annoying the crap out of me too, and then I realized you can change it through that method, as long as you can turn off notifications in the original app.

I'm having this exact same issue with both the stock browser and Dolphin HD. So weird. Unfortunately I have no idea how to fix it...

Right now I'm hating the fact that I can only attach images to emails from the Gmail app. Has anyone else noticed this?

Oh yessss that fixes it... and turning off the main led control in the app makes it not go green. The notification led is still screwy but that's not as big of a deal to me

Someone update the first post...

This thread is becoming unwieldy. So, I got bored and compiled this:

How to sort the App Drawer by name?

App Drawer → Menu → View Type → Alphabetical Grid or List

Stock SMS/MMS app plays images as slideshow

Can't fix it in stock. Check out alternative SMS apps like Handcent or Pansi. (someone says this occurs in Handcent, too; Go SMS Pro doesn't do this).

I hate the home button.

Did you not look at the phone before you bought it? It came in some mystery box and it was a complete surprise what it would even look like? For all you knew, it could have had a 2" screen and Android 2.1?

I can't adjust brightness through the notification bar.

Can't fix it in stock. Check out "Display Brightness" in the Play Store.

Going "home" via the home button is slow.

App Drawer → S Voice App → Menu → Settings → uncheck "Launch S Voice"

Capacitive buttons flash every time you touch the screen.

Settings → Display → Touch key light duration

How do I setup Google Voice as the default voicemail with Sprint?

http://www.google.com/googlevoice/sprint/

Lock screen wakes on every text.

Can't fix it in stock. Check out alternative SMS apps like Handcent or Pansi.

Weird sound made when dialing a call.

Phone → Menu → Call Settings → Call Alert → Call Status Tones → Call Connect Tone uncheck.

No media control on lock screen.

Depends on what lock you're using. Pattern lock has music controls. Or you can bring down the notification bar to use media controls.

Video keeps refocusing unnecessarily.

Tap to focus, then tap AF Lock. Of course, not a perfect fix…

I logged into the Google when I first got the phone and now all my old apps are on my SGSIII.

Well, too late now…to prevent, disable this in the Play Store settings.

No scrolling wallpaper.

Not fixable.

No FM Radio.

Not available in any US-based SGSIII.

Cell standby is GOBBLING UP my battery.

It's probably not; it's a bug. Divide the percentage by 10: that's how much you're really using. A possible fix: http://global.christianpost.com/new...ttery-problems-solution-and-how-to-fix-77482/

Stock SMS app shows a badge, even with no new messages.

Can't fix it in stock. Check out alternative SMS apps like Handcent or Pansi.

Something weird about dialing a # in Google Voice and it displays the incorrect #.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28243674&postcount=149

How can I make whites whiter?

Settings → Display → Turn off Auto Adjust Screen Tone.

Direct dial issues.

Try the stock messaging app and no custom launchers (just TouchWiz).

USB Mass Storage?

Mine works on Windows 8 CP x64. Does it not work for anyone?

WiFi status is always in the notification bar.

How to rearrange the toggles in the notification bar?

If you unmount your SD card, the assigned ringtones are reset to default.

If you arrange apps in a folder, rebooting/clearing out the memory.

I can't open the home page of an app with the back key (it goes to the home screen).

How to remove the dialer screen after a phone call?

My WiFi doesn't auto-connect.

Text message notification sound cuts off early.

This is my first Android phone, so I might have missed obvious things (but I ignored complaints like "it's too thin and light.") But, yeah, this way, this thread is actually USEFUL...all the unanswered ones are on the bottom.

~Ibrahim~

P.S. About that UMS app: I just found it; not sure if it works or not as I don't have a SD card. But, like I posted above, I can just plug it in and it works great (copied and pasted an MP3 into ringtones...gave some error on the phone that it couldn't work without Kies, but it did work without Kies...)
