What's really annoying is the slight delay when turning the screen on. once you push the lock button it takes 1-2 seconds for the lock screen to appear. when the screen is on, it shuts off instantly when you push the lock button, but it's delayed in turning back on. its even embarrassing actually and it makes the phone look slow when people take a look at my phone. :/
+1. Anyone knows if its a TW feature ?

i must be one of the few people in the community that like the galaxy s3 touchwiz and "motion". Maybe I'm just on that "new phone" high.

You're high on something chief, that's for sure. lol

This is about my fifth Samsung android phone, all came crapped up with TW and while each iteration of TW seems marginally better than the last, it's still nowhere near the UX that it should be, especially now that Apex and Nova are in the fray since 4.x version of the OS.

Here is a little background. I switched from iPhone 4S to Galaxy S3. Apart from the learning curve (I expected that) everything is going well except for a few annoyances. The one that is driving me nuts is the Email.
I have two Email account setup, Hotmail, and my work email through Corporate Exchange Server. By default when I receive the Email it's in text with zero HTML formatting. I checked show images in the options with no luck. I enabled the size of Emails to download to "All". Contacted Samsung and they said I have to hit load more details a the end of each email every time. Are you crazy?
Something as basic as Email should be set to work just out of the box especially on a smartphone of this caliber. Anyways would greatly appreciate if anyone solved this problem. Its definitely grinding my gears.

No swiping the notification bar to adjust brightness.

While I don't suggest you quote me on this, I seem to remember from ported ICS ROMs for the Note i717, this same functionality was lost and people were not happy. Cool thing was that the developers wound up building a custom 15-widget-toggle mod that included a brightness button. This might have already been done with the S3 too, but I haven't poked around much in dev threads yet to see. Besides, that's not exactly the same experience as simply being able to swipe casually from left-to-right or back the other way to change brightness.

I guess what I'm saying is that this likely has more to do with Android 4.0.4 than it does Samsung.

Why not install Go Launcher or Nova or Apex and take the Pepsi challenge?? If the lag goes bye-bye, then your answer is that TW struck again (which would be my semi-educated guess to begin with).

This is bugging me too! I have 4 Exchange accounts I keep up with, and it is extremely irritating to have to scroll to the bottom to get it to download the entire message when you have already set it to do so! I never had to do this with my Thunderbolt! I just hope one of the developers will find a fix for this!

Try and download a third party app. Ya I know you shouldn't have to but it's like that

I tend to leave things stock for a while but after the first two weeks I had to ditch the Samsung keyboard for Swype. The stock keyboard just couldn't compare.

Personally I think the stock email apps are iffy at best. The beauty of android is that you can replace just about any app with a better one (email, browser, messaging, ect...). Actually one of the things that drives me crazy about iOS (I have an iPad for work), is that you cannot do this. You can get a "new" browser but they are just basically different skins over safari. <end anti-apple rant>

As far as email apps are concerned, you can probably find one that suits your needs in the market. I like K-9, mainly for technical reasons as it is very heavy on features. I have been using it for years, so there may be better ones out there now.

Ok found something... removed my lockscreen a few days ago and kept finding my phone on....
Apparently my home button now acts as the power button waking the phone up when pushed?
Home button now really making hulk angry.
Any one else have this issue

Whenever i open multiple tabs in the S3's internet browser,or move to a different application, the inactive tabs reload/refresh automatically after only seconds of inactivity.
This gets really frustrating with websites that require passwords, whereas, I will have to key in my credentials every time the page reloads. any tips for this?

Hmmmm...

My biggest annoyance is since day 1, I have the notification in the bar saying I have a new voicemail. I don't, and it won't go away! Any way to fix this??
Next, when doing something power intensive, ie; uploading to Dropbox, using the portable hotspot feature to connect my laptop, etc., the phone gets really hot... I mean REALLY HOT!! Is this normal? Or is something wrong? Kinda panicking cuz it's already rooted - could not STAND the awful battery life with all the bloatware. From what I understand, I can no longer use the warranty since I rooted it, correct?
And last, I've had the Vibrant since it came out up until this was released, and ran lots of different ROMs, all of which I totally loved, and all had wonderful sound! Voodoo, Beats, or even just some tweaks. In comparison, the sound on the SGS3 is not impressive at all! I', hoping one of the wonderful devs here comes up with something! U guys are the BEST btw, many thanks!
Oh yeah, remembered one more thing - I was last running DocMaster's ICS ROM on my Vibrant, and the phone app had a super cool lookin dial pad. Kind of a mirrored neon blue. Could have sworn they said it was from the SGS3, but that's not what I've got here. I've looked and looked for it on replacement apps, but can't find it. Silly I know, but if anyone knows where I can find it and how I get it on here, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks again for every one of you!!

Just Odin back to stock and you can use your warranty. Are you using a custom Rom? That could explain the phantom voicemail.
