I hate hate hate touch wiz, So i got a GS3 which is only 1 day old but I have to admit touchwiz sucks major touch azz, the phone is nice tho but I do miss sense and this GS3 feels plasticy but it has to grow on me. Its too thin and too light. I Like phones with weight and a good feel some may say they like those features but Im use to HTC build feel. So now im with the dark side SAMSUNG but I just wish I could have sense with this phone asap. I rather have stock google than touch azz. But I will never complain about sense again and its laggyness but I dont miss it enough to go to the evo4lte. I need a break from htc but I dont know how long its going to be. I hope the new note competitor they are building is nice. Dont want to end on a down note the GS3 is a good phon,e I just got to get used to it.
I actually bought a One X initially because I liked the build quality more. But one day of sense, and the IMHO yellowish whites, and washed out blacks of the screens didn't feel like an upgrade to me. The screen, despite all of it's praise, reminded me of my original droid after having an iPhone, and a Galaxy Nexus (only had it a week, the battery life infuriated me on the Verizon version, so I went to ATT). Also, Sense absolutely infuriated me, and is even uglier than touch wiz if that's possible. (I knew I was going to root either of the phones, but it appeared the GS3 was going to have more developer support). The phone has really grown on me, I actually find it to be very classy and sleek looking... something about the one X despite feeling much better in the hand, still didn't feel contemporary (I think it was the glass not being flush with the plastic honestly). I do enjoy the ergonomics of the GS3, although I believe the home button is too low, and the phone should have more weight at the bottom like the Galaxy nexus to better balance in your hand, since the home button arrangement being what it is, causes you to have most of the screen outside of your hand. This is why I believe google's stock onscreen buttons are genius. Not only do they put the keyboard in a more ergonomic position (near the middle of the phone as opposed to the bottom which is a real hassle with this phone because it constantly feels like it's slipping out of your hand) but they are also easier to reach, and much quicker to press than physical buttons. I don't understand why the OEM's are so averse to them, as they reduce production cost of the phones.
I have sense installed AOKP on mine, and am in love. It is nearly as nice as the GNex was with Jellybean, and hopefully will be on par (better because of the battery life and screen and battery) when we have an official CM10 release. My new case is waiting on the stoop at home according to Amazon, so I'm hoping that will remedy the slip n' slide feeling in my hand.
I wanted to love the One X because plasticy phones to me are irritating, especially at this price point. But alas, despite all of the blogs claiming how nice the one X screen was, the LED bleeding, yellowish whites, and washed out blacks drove me crazy. I'll take a blue hint and perfect blacks over that any day. Ironically though, the pentile is more noticeable to me on the GS3 than the GNex. But the GNex had some color reproduction issues.
