Galaxy SIII Annoyances Megathread

Anyone seeing that their screen is dimming and lighting up randomly?? Sometimes it gets very bright sometimes it doesn't. It's set on automatic brightness but I'm not moving from a dark spot to a bright spot. Anyone have some insight on this? Thanks.

if you have power saving enabled it will do that

Actually my power saving mode was off at the time and I still encountered that problem... I will double check and spend a day without power saving mode. Maybe I'm seeing things.

i get the same thing, it think that the light sensor its just really sensitive.

Even with power saving disabled, auto tone off, and automatic brightness disabled, my screen still flickers and adjusts brightness. It's very annoying.

Man, my Sprint GS3 doesnt seem that much better than GS2 Epic Touch, qudrant scores only little higher in some areas like fps and to me GS2 screen looks better but it needed few months to be broken in, because at first my GS2 screen was yellowish and now its perfect white,now my GS3 is yellowish-hopefully that will change in time.

Mine does too on some apps,it can be disabled in app settings menu-most of the time.

i actually love everything about the phone, the thing kills my old device. what i hate is how quickly the general section moves and bumps the threads that are completely worthless, see "locked bootloader" and every other VZW locked bootloader thread along with "post a picture of yourself".

1. if you hate the locked bootloader on VZW, switch carriers or stop whining about it. you knew what you were getting in to.
2. i don't want to know what you look like. there is no good picture of you unless you are in playboy, in which case, you won't be posting here so f%^&ing stop!!!

Here's my story: I was sitting on my couch watching tv and mess in with my phone at the same time. I'm holding the phone in my left hand and decide to reach for the remote and change the channel. Unexpectedly somehow as I was reaching the phone slips from my hand and lands hard on my tile floor.
This was from couch height. The phone landed on a corner and then proceeded to fall flat on the screen.
I have no case (put off getting one..) and no screen protector. Just great.. I knew my phone was doomed.
I'm terrified I've heard about how fragile the s3 is and that gorrila glass 2 is all just crap and doesn't protect. I'm sure that my screen cracked at least a little. I pick up the phone... Nothing!
There's absolutely nothing wrong with the phone. The screen is not cracked there is no scratches or scuff marks everything is perfect. Mint condition
I'm very happy and can say that the phone is not that fragie. I think it can withstand some minor accidental drops.
Needless to say I have a case on the way, can't let this happen again!
Just thought I'd share.

I like using YouTube to listen to music and to get stereo I have to put it on high quality mode I went through a Gb of data in about an hour. Is there anyway to get the high quality audio without the high quality video?

ummmmm.... yeah wifi, or pandora or slacker radio. or get sprint with unlimited data. but who cares anyway since these are all the same forum.

What the heck are you talking about? Just go into settings and choose the ones you want to show.

I really just have one issue that probably can't fix. The wake/sleep button and volume buttons are way to easy to press. Very annoying but not anything I can't get used to. This is my first android phone and I love it so far.

the droplets are OK I guess, but when accessing voicemail and using the speaker phone or any menu system for that matter, the BEEP sound is annoying as hell.

Does it happen when switching to and from the browser? The browser has it's own brightness settings.

When I try setting a contact picture the same one keeps coming up after I go through the process of cropping and saving the pic of a different person.

Yea well everytime I opened music player i did it through the widget which never lets you go anywhere else....else it just backs out of the widget...but i see your picture so I opened the music player app and now I can see all that shti you are talking about...so I will rephrase. Yeah the stock music player sux. Try Poweramp (trial then pay) or Mortplayer (free).
