If you unmount sd card, all assigned ring tones are reset to default.

If you arrange placement of apps within a folder, after a reboot or clearing out memory, the apps in the folder are rearranged in a different position.

Any concerns about the GPS? To date Samsung's GPS quality has been sh*t, and that's a dealbreaker for me.
Don't be concerned about GPS. The S3 is a vast improvement over my crappy Cappy's barely functional GPS. Indoors, my Cappy never worked, and outside, it took many MINUTES to lock.

My S3, on the other hand, is seeing 20 satellites indoors atm, using 10 of them, gets a lock in a couple seconds, and shows an awesome accuracy of 10 feet.

Gets even better results outside.

Screen brightness, or dimness I should say

Whites on the S III screen are VERY very dim. Half the brightness of a Droid. A quarter as bright as HOX or EVO. Yikes. Colors are bright, though, but almost too bright. I can't say for now I like the saturation, though it sure is impressive. If colors are so bright why isn't WHITE? Isn't it just all colors combined? . . .
I agree. I had read only one review that mentioned this http://reviews.cnet.com/samsung-galaxy-s3-review/ so dismissed it because I couldn't believe they would provide a worse screen with their new flagship vs. their previous top phones. But the screen is noticeably dimmer and grayer than my Galaxy Note, esp. when viewed outdoors.

Here's a comparison shot:

(if image doesn't show, go here http://twitpic.com/a3iphv)

It's not so bad indoors, but SO glaringly obvious outdoors that it is a real disappointment, and may be a deal-breaker for me. I wonder if there is any chance that this a defect only seen in some.

Not sure if this has been mentioned. Go to settings, display, turn off auto adjust screen tone. That should help with the white being brighter. It does that to save battery.

thank you mac33 for this but I did try that to no avail.

And thank YOU cushcalc, I felt alone in this...every review says how great the S III screen, how it's bright, etc. I was quite underwhelmed in person. Personally I hope they just ditch AMOLED for LCD next time. It has a variety of serious flaws inherent to the technology itself that can't be solved via software. Ink marks, tints, dimness, burn in, bad in sun, bizarrely oversaturated colors (which admittedly are sometimes cool to look at), PenTile, etc.

Imagine the SIII with the HOX screen... OMFG that would be AWESOME. I still might keep the S III. I'll give it the 14 days as VZW allows to test it out...

Battery life hasn't been great. I lost a % every two minutes playing a game like Zenonia 4, airplane mode on, brightness at 50%, nothing syncing, etc.

Maybe that's considered good but eh.

Google Voice

I got a Galaxy Siii 2 weeks ago and finally just narrowed this issue down to Google Voice. When I place a call and dial 123-456-7890 the call log will show a different number. I am still connected to the correct number and if I redial that "incorrect number" I am connected to that same correct number. If I go to store the number then the displayed "incorrect" number is stored. Change the Google Voice setting so it is not used to make calls and the problem goes away, still there if I "ask every time".

Never had this with my GSii. Anyone else seen this?

I hate hate hate touch wiz, So i got a GS3 which is only 1 day old but I have to admit touchwiz sucks major touch azz, the phone is nice tho but I do miss sense and this GS3 feels plasticy but it has to grow on me. Its too thin and too light. I Like phones with weight and a good feel some may say they like those features but Im use to HTC build feel. So now im with the dark side SAMSUNG but I just wish I could have sense with this phone asap. I rather have stock google than touch azz. But I will never complain about sense again and its laggyness but I dont miss it enough to go to the evo4lte. I need a break from htc but I dont know how long its going to be. I hope the new note competitor they are building is nice. Dont want to end on a down note the GS3 is a good phon,e I just got to get used to it.
Download nova launcher from play store, its fastest and works best.

This isn't an annoyance for long, but what's the hold up on CM? Didn't Samsung give source codes and have been pretty open? I didn't expect it to not have any real ROMs after a couple of weeks now

AOSP source code for 4.1 isn't out yet.

Mid-july is the ETA, and a few weeks after that a CM10 alpha should surface (with the obligatory broken camera :)

Direct Dial Shortcut No Worky

I'm on an AT&T SGSIII and I've found that a direct dial shortcut seems to do absolutely nothing when you try to use it - any advice on making this work or is it just me?

No mass storage mode, and slide to adjust screen brightness are two things I miss from my old captivate.

Can't post links, but Google an app called "SGS3 Easy UMS" for the USB mass storage mode.

Requires rooting, though.

For some reason I've completely lost 4g on this thing. T-mo cs has tried everything from rebuilding my account. I've gone from stock to rooted and a mod Rom back to stock. No difference. The tech rep thinks I need a new phone. They are sending me a SIM. Which is where my annoyance comes in. Why in the he'll did they change the size of the SIM?????? I could narrow down the problem without having to call T-Mobile if I could just put the SIM in my nexus s or vice versa.

Amazon sells adapters for the micro-sim's so that you can put them into normal sim slots.
You can get it for under $1 shipped.

New email received notification at the top of the screen doesn't always go away after I open my email app. Gmail app and notification has no issues nor does sms messaging. Just the stock email app I use to check my work exchange account. I read somewhere on the interwebs this is an acknowledged bug that will be corrected in a future update. Who knows. Annoying but goes away if I open and close the email app a few times

Home button kind of annoying mostly because I'm lazy. Loved the capacitive home button on the GN.

Otherwise I'm in love.
