Just received my case (in black) and loving. I am trying to work out a way to toggle the screen on and off when the case is opened, perhaps using Tasker and the light sensor. However, the Power On option isn't available in Tasker. Anyone have an idea how to make this work?
did get how to do this?

Do you guys think it adds much or significant bulk to the device?
It doesn't. It's pretty thin when closed and adds a nice grip when opened. It looks much better "in person" than on pictures. I also considered a Puro Booklet Cover, but in direct comparison Samsung's won.

Cheers. Thanks for that.

Already ordered one in black.
Also wanting to get dock, and maybe keyboard too. But keyboard looks like its half complete. It really should have a USB port. So sad taht it doens't.

Thanks for the information. I found the ivory case on eBay for $50 and made the leap. Looking forward to owning Samsung's official enclosure for this great tablet.

Can anyone tell me how the typing angle is for browsing while sitting at a table? Would you have it a bit higher, without sacrificing typing comfort?

Just got botht the tablet and cases.

Very happy with the look and quality of it.

will take photos later

NOT happy with the weight that it has added. It is as heavy as my transformer now. (well it seems like that anyway).

further disadvantages:
can't charge while closed
upright angle is not overly steady
The hard flap smashes into the screen if you don't guide it over the device when shutting case (i could just be used to my old TF101 genuine sleeve)
The weight!!!

But im quite happy with it overall.

Will this case work with the media dock?
It does not work with my charging, 3.5mm out dock.

The dock has no room for ANY case. Maybe ZIS.

Im beginning to not like this case more...

It looks and feels great when its closed.
To me, it feels like its upside down to a degree...

The flap, when case is open should be on the top of the device where the camera lens is.
a) because the tablet is the right way around like that (speakers down)
b) the light sensor is not disturbed with your hands going across it when in use.
c) the same applies in the typing position too. Nice angle, and also sturdy. But light sensor is interrupted.

one corner is not protected

MIght sell it :(

I just ordered one from Samsung. I hope it gets here before my trip. Anyone know where Samsung accessories ship from? I have to assume somewhere in the midwest, since they say items ordered before 4pm CDT ship out that day. I'm really excited to get this!

Edit: looks like it ships from Mesquite Texas.

I was looking for a decent case for my tablet a while back and picked up the belkin flip case in leather for the tab. I honestly have no complaints other than over time the flap which keeps the tablet tucked in gets flimsy and the tab tends to want to slide out. This doesn't allow for a "perfect" fit after a while.

Now looking for a more reliable case but it appears the oem book case from Samsung is my best bet. Looking to pick one up in black real soon. Anyone have any significant complaints about this case in terms of fit and longevity / durability?

I have one in black.

It looks great, very tough, and the flap has not degraded with time.

The BIGGEST Negative for the case is its weight. It adds WAY too much weight to the otherwise light 8.9 SGT. Fit is fine. A great case otherwise.

oh also;

Im beginning to not like this case more...

I'm considering one of these now the price is low. From what I understand here the device doesn't fit in the official dock with the case. Does anyone know of a case that allows the dock to be used?

If its cheap - go for it. Dont hesitate.

None that I know of. the dock is very snug. best you'd get is invisible shield.

Hey,

I got mine (original, Ivory) on a sale for around 20$. It's perfect! I can keep it better now, when reading in portrait orientation. And my Tab is still like a new-born without scratches!
If you can get it - get it!

BTW: Does anyone have or know where can I get HDMI adapter for sale in "normal" (non-Samsung :p) price?
