I just wanted to let you guys know that I found a better version for me at least. I'm now using Nikita GCam version 2.0 with the attached XML config (found in a telegram channel). It's not crashing anywhere I click, but I have not tested functionality in-depth. Hope this works at least for some of you guys! Cheers!
Which version did you choose? I'm using the com.ngcam.camera
Also there is a port of the Venus Mi Camera as a Magisk Module floating around...

Don't use app only bro load config first and use app no more crash

I have looked there times but do not know which take
Have now tested it, the Magisk port does not work, the camera closes immediately again.

MiuiCamera for AOSP A11 and A12 Custom ROMs, properly tested on miatoll devices but may work on other devices as well.

That version is for Miatoll devices. Series 9 Xiaomi not 11.

Thank you for the port working fine but I am curious about one thing..all the MIUI camera ports that I have tried including yours seems lack the post processing/AI upscaling (or whatever it's doing behind the scene) done in stock MIUI rom, that's apparent because picture quality seems on par with gcam quality/worse and even more apparent when taking zoomed picture which on gcam was way way worse compared to MIUI cam in stock romI made one using mars implementation :

Our ports aren't based of the stock MIUI Camera app so it can't always have the same level of proccessing

And as a side note what is the benefit of MIUI camera port over gcam ?

Hi, here the latest shamin GCAM with a config file that I´ve modified a little :
You have to load the config file otherwise the camera will crash
Only slowmo videos are not working, all other things seem to work well.
I really like the colorful and sharp pictures !

What MIUI version do you have, 12.5?
