Hello Guys .. Good day to all HTC 10 users .. While you have fingers crossed for someone to port android 10 to our device .. I have another spicy discovery Regarding Gcam for Android 9 roms based on @fagyi kernel.
Interestingly this time int involves the LATEST GCAM VERSION 7.009 !!
I am testing it out on CR Droid 5.8 by @andybones . Its going really good .. captures really good quality pics.. Almost on par with razer phone v5 quality but its much faster and captures video properly ...

BUTTT !! Since nothing in this world is Perfect .. Portrait mode is not working (although normal front cam mode is working ) ... so if you are a fan of portrait selfies ... this apk is not for you ..

- heres what you need to do so that night sight saves pics properly : go to Gcam settings and turn 'PIXEL AWB' to OFF .
- to make th auti focus data disappear from viewfinder : go to Gcam setting > developer settings > search for debug in search box > untick "camera.debug.af.show"
- if u want a faster view finder turn off lens suggestions .

Just go up 3 posts and download the file.. iv posted a newer apk with working portrait mode and basically all other functions are good too ..
Remember to clear cache /data after u install the new apk . Hope this helps

I am using MGC-7.0.009_MiIXSE.RPII.MiVIII_V1b_NoFixBuff.apk on PE rom.
Portrait working well
Night sight too (awb off)
Front cam nightsight noise too much
Astrophotography not work cos need at least 1 minute to capture and didn't work

Whenever HDR+ is enabled the view finder lags a lot for me. Turning it off or switching to video fixes it for me. Is it the same for you?

turning off the AF data from dev settings helps eliminates alot of lag ...
its not a smooth 30 fps but after using the recommended setting it is very usable around 20fps ..
if u turn off the suggestions and any camera gestures/ dirty lens warnings ,,, it improves even further .. for me after these settings give me very solid fps in viewfinder .. better than any other gcam ports (20-24 fps) which is pretty good considering its an unofficial port which was not even ported for our device in first place .. its a miracle we are able to use it on HTC 10 ..

i am looking at other apks too, some have smoother viewfinders (but either portrait is broken or nightsite doesnt work) .. if u are ok with these features missing i can share the apk ,, but none of these apks come close to BSG ports in terms of raw Picture quality and details ... here take a look at a sample (although parrot gcam is very close but still in second place) NOTE the TEXT written on the button of headphones.

you might try one more thing if u haven't already ..
go to camera settings > advanced .. and turn on hdr+ controls .. and switch to normal HDR+ rather than HDR+ enhanced

ASTRO-PHOTOGRAPHY ... yes our 'almost' 4 years old HTC 10 has a Gcam port with working astrophotogratphy and SuperRes zoom features from Pixel 4.
I have tried this apk on LOS 17 ( Nov 3rd ) build . And all features are working fine including night site and portrait. Turning of feature like framing hints .. motion capture and lens suggestions result in faster view finder . ( After install clear cache/storage of Gcam before starting the app ) . During first run / shifting modes between astro/night site/portrait the app might crash once. if that happens just restart the app and it will run fine.
For turning Astrophotography on you have to go to settings > advanced . it gives exposure of around 1 min 40 sec . Astrophotography produces best results in darker/ pitch black scenarios. Oh and did i mention 12x Super Res zoom !!!
If you are concerned about picture quality at finer level, BSG 7.009 still produces the finest pictures (this Apk has a little bit more noise but pics still turn out looking very good)

Id like to thank the devs especially @fagyi @andybones and the modder @Urnyx05
(and any that i missed) who work selflessly and make these experiences possible for us.

PS i am attaching samples taken in pitch black room comparing regular night site vs Astro mode ..

For a long time now BSG apk has been the best one out there if we wanted the best pic quality .. Now i am happy to say we have a new kid in town .. the latest (7.2.0.14) version from PMGC now squarely MATCHES, if not beat the BSG quality (until bsg comes up with a better version ) plus working ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY + SUPERes Zoom functionality. To add cherry on cake, astro mode has longer exposure (1:50) than the last apk known with working astro (Urnyx05 apk) and 10x zoom vs 8x from previous one. In addition its more stable than Urnyx (remember to clear cache for Gcam AFTER the new install, and keep the 'sabre' toggle off) / (only works on android 10)/ (tested on PE 10 -- test on other Q roms and mention if its working there) .. i am attaching some pics here to let u see the details for yourself.

And as usual id like to thank and mention the currently active devs to let them know about the Gcam status @andybones @fagyi @scan6

Thanks for this. Is the front camera grainy for you too? I have a lot of grain in both normal and portrait mode from the front camera. Back camera is good though.

front cam is pretty bad imo for any gcam lol .. hdr brings up acne like hell ?

Front cam was pretty decent in the first BSG build you posted. 7.0. 009 I think. Haven't had a front camera like that in ages. I think I'll stick with that one for the moment. Thanks a lot for finding and updating us on gcam builds though. It's pretty awesome.
