Hi all, this is all a bit new to me with all the different versions and config files. Maybe you guys can help me.

- I want to use GCam, but more specifically make the maximal use of my camera (best would be running stock OOS camera)
- I run the PixelExtended rom based on OOS12 c.48

i also use PixelExtended rom based on OOS12 c.48
I have tested many different GCam versions. Either the zoom camera doesn't work (blackscreen) or the app crashes randomly.
The only version that works reasonably well is the NGcam from Nikita.
NGcam

Edit: But works only with the XML "YouLop09-OP9ProNikita".

If it crashes randomly or you have black screen, then you're (most likely) doing something wrong. There's no reason why Nikita 8.2 would work better than any other mod.

- clean flash rom based on oos c48
- copy xml to internal memory
- install gcam mod
- import xml in gcam

Can you show a screen recording of the issue? Are you using the snapcam/oneplus package? Factually crdroid users were having issues with aux lenses, but everwhere else is fine if you use the correct package

I am very happy to do that. I hope you can give me a tip. I would like to use the LMC version. It looks really really good

In the recording I use version:
LMC 8.4 R11 GCam Oneplus.apk from Telegram + Arcide-LMC8.4-OP9P-v4.2.xml

Edit: I have installed the Nikita version again and also made a recording

Thank you for keeping the thread alive @Arcide

I would say this cam takes much better/sharper portrait pics than stock one (even the one on oos 11). In general pictures of faces are significantly less flat and grainy/noisy than those taken with stock cam.

On the other hand it's not as convenient to use as the stock one. If you let's say go to a trip with little kids (that are not really willing to stay still and pose ;) ) and take a lot of pics, change lenses quickly then you may find switching between the lenses and saving pictures way too slow. In order to be able to chose another lens you have to wait couple of seconds untill the last pic is processed/saved. (Maybe i had chosen hi res photos hence long processing time.)

Long processing time is normal because of high frame count. You can switch to HDR+ Enhanced and lower frames to 7, but of course that will lower the quality. Yes stock is faster and everything works seamlessly, but much lower quality of photos.

Let's first confirm that you have a 9 Pro and not a regular 9? 😁

I see the ultrawide lens works fine, just that the telephoto doesn't. So can you confirm if the tele is really used and not a crop on main on Nikita? I mean that's highly unlikely, but just to cross out these easier options.

yes it's really a Oneplus 9pro ;)

It also uses the telephoto lens. I checked it with my finger. The lower lens is used (under the Hasselblad logo).

Please look at my screen capture again. If I switch to Portrait, the telephoto lens also works. When I switch back to Camera, the screen goes black again.

Okay this is good at least lol.
It's always difficult to find out the issue, since we're talking about custom roms, it can go both ways. Also it could be either that the original 8.4 version of the mod has some incompatibility or just this tweak by Hasli. What about AGC and Shamim 8.4 versions, did you try them?

Just noticed that these don't change after i apply your config. Is this normal or am i just looking at the wrong place?

Latest GCam Port on 7/30/2022 seems to have lost the ability to load XML configs. Double tapping the area around the shutter button does nothing.

A working Gcam for our phone, because we deserve it:
    (always use this version: org.codeaurora.snapcam)

Compared to the stock camera, the shutter is faster and the colours are somewhat more vibrant. Haven't had a chance to compare night modes yet.

If you have an XML setup to recommend, please do share.
