There is a problem I found, I am not sure if this is only happening on my device.
The Stock One plus cam app takes photos at 6000X8000 px resolution on main camera. However, When I checked the google camera, It takes photos at 3000X4000 which is like 50% of the size of the opn cam app.
I checked the settings but didnt see an option to change it to higher res. The image google cam takes good one phone but when looking at it from a desktop. it lacks resolution compared to the stock one.

This does not support the wide angle front camera, does it?
All cameras work fine

Hi there, I've just received my Nord and went ahead and installed the latest OTA (10.5.9) and first of all installed GCam to test the image quality compared to my OP3T.

I'm a bit shocked - the Nord seems to have constantly on super-powerful noise reduction, leading to tons of smearing in the image at default settings. So far I've tested Urnyx05's latest versions (I've been using v2.2-fix on my OP3T for weeks now and it's been great) and the Wichaya version recommended in the OP of this thread. All show similar results. Below are the results for the latest Urnyx05 versions.

OP3T:

Nord:

Is this normal? In general, the results from the Nord are noisier and more strongly smeared due to noise reduction - even when using the same GCam APK and identical libpatcher settings.

-edit- With the same APK, the Nord seems to pick a shutter speed that's twice as fast (1/33.3 vs. 1/17), so should be almost 1 stop worse in terms of noise (if the sensors were exactly the same - but the one in the Nord is bigger and newer and better!). The difference seems like much more than 1 stop though. :S

-edit2- Maybe the IMX586 just isn't for me. White balance is also way off, especially in normal HDR+ mode (HDR+ Enhanced and Night Sight are better, but still much too cool and green in warm white LED lighting).

If you don't like the noise reduction you should use a timo based profile, it's clearer.

I personally like the latest urnyx with nrg profile

Got my Nord today. First impression: Even with the "best" settings and configs on the Nord, OnePlus 3T destroys Nord in every aspect. Absolutely undisputed truth. Note that OP3T costed almost same (3.5 years back) as what Nord costs today. That's a good comparison of rate of Inflation versus Tech.

As someone who was passionate with mobile photography on a budget, and almost never let down by the 3T, Nord feels like a disappointing downgrade. Yes, I was fully aware that Nord didn't have great cameras, but I thought 3 years of development and a better sensor would bring something to the table, at least with the main camera. But nope, not so far. Hoping future updates address these shabby implementations.

I Cant judge that... never had 3T, but i don't find Nord cameras that bad, (i am certainly not blown away either), especially with Gcam... and my previous phone was a P20...

I'm sure the camera hardware on the Nord (main sensor at least) is actually better - it's just let down by the software or the implementation thereof. Somewhere between the sensor and the GCam viewfinder and final output, something's not quite properly optimized or plain wrong.

I'm back to living with the slowness and unreliable autofocus on the 3T, but decent picture quality with Urnyx05 Gcams for now....

And to be fair, even the Pixel 5 with the stock Google camera (so HDR+ only) was a slight (tiny) downgrade in terms of picture quality when compared to the 3T with Urnyx05's Gcam and HDR+ Enhanced switched on. So it's not like it's just the Oneplus Nord...

Now that the magisk module for enabling the rest of the cameras is not needed is there anything else to be gained by having root?
Also I'd be very interested to see the output of the depth sensor but haven't found any app that can do that. Is there any way it can be enabled on this?

Hello! I have been using the latest greatness build and imo it produces the best looking images. There are certain config files available as well, you can see which one works the best for you!

After extensive testing I can confirm Jakob1502's result concerning night mode.

Greatness' version gives much better results. The reason is that it takes a lot more frames than Wichaya's, at least with the profiles I tried (greatnesscam73 and default quality respectively). It does have a color cast by default but enabling AWB (always) fixed it to a large degree (more or less removed it and produced the same colors as Wuchaya's). This version is clearly superior for low light photography (both with night mode and without) at least with those profiles.

During daylight photography Greatness' still gives better results with more sharpness, more dynamic range and uniform lightning. The difference isn't as large as it is in low light photography but it's still there especially if you have dark patches in an otherwise well lit frame.

With the wide lens both versions produce comparable results regarding sharpness and detail but Greatness' version produces a more realistic color cast similar to the main camera while Wichaya's result looks more like the stock camera app (blue color cast).

All cameras work correctly and I haven't encountered issues with switching in both versions.

Can you please share the apk and config files you use please!
I'm not into these kinds of stuff and would appreciate your help!
