Into the downloads page i see different options: org.codeaurora.snapcam, com.android.mgc, com.google.android.GoogleCameraEng, etc...

Which version should we use on POCO X3 Pro and which are the differences?

It's different package names, no major difference for our device.
I advise you to take 2nd (MGC one) so that it's unique and if you want you can install other gcam mods on the side.

Can an HLSL shader be ported to Gcam for video recording?
My X3 Pro always makes pixelated / juggy videos when I choose 60fps or more.
I made a shader to mitigate pixelation to improve quality on 1080p60, but now it works only at playback.

You're like a ray of sun in the middle of an awful road, thank you so much!
Hey guys I tried MGC_8.1.101 and it works fine. But I found that there is no option to change the save position to the external sdcard. Is there any solution?
You can try looking around for some kind of script which will actively look for and transfer any files that get placed into the storage/emulated/0/DCIM/Camera
In case you only want to transfer GCam Images and not the photos/videos taken from normal camera app, then you'd be looking for something that detects the "PXL" prefix in the image name and transfers only those files.

Is it possible to set the resolution higher than 1920x1080 on the front camera in GCam? And if so, how to do it? Because, unfortunately, only this resolution can be set to the maximum in the options.

can anyone tell me why every time the pictures on gcam are much worse than in system? I have already tried several versions of this topic , of course config also and always the pictures are worse. I do not understand what is going on but I do not see the point of using it, unless I am doing something wrong, but what?

I have just got my Poco X3 pro and installed gcam ( the one in post #95 - thanks a lot to K3lcior for the link and your tests!). I will probably test the setup with the more natural colors you posted after too just to check it!

The main camera is quite good and Gcam is doing a great job, it's way better than stock - It's not miles ahead my Xiaomi A1 + Gcam, but it's definitely an improvment - (it's 10 times faster to process the photos however :D)

Here is a shot with some Lightroom edits/PS

The Ultra wide however is worse than I expected on this phone, even if Gcam manage to improve it quite a bunch compared to Stock, it's still not really usable for a 1080p output. ( Still, for a phone I paid 190€ for the 256gb version, that's pretty decent - but with the poco you tend to forget that you have a budget phone in your hands!)

Do you guy know how to edit these XML files (understand them at least) to tweak some values? I would like to try to make the colors closer to main cam.

I have seen that you can add librairies too, however I don't really understand what they can be used for? What do they tweak?

Is there any way to use manual white balance?

The video seems much sharper than stock + higher bitrate/ better compression, but I can't get the image stabilization to work.

Does any of you have Gcam video image stab working?

I have just tried the gcam K3lcior posted on post #131 and it's really nice too.

Better than the other one for portrait, especially in low light (the other one was too saturated, destroying skin colors).

    I am keeping both versions!

Stabilization works great, video quality is miles ahead stock cam.

cons: it really lacks manual settings for video - Any app to recommand featuring manual settings and good EIS + OIS support?
Some more samples for this Gcam & config https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/16_Zm3N7MxzEF2jKGC3p7yfGRZekZ1RTF

Also short 4k 30fps video recording test

Nice, I need to visit Poland one day, it looks gorgeous!

And crazy it's straight out of camera jpgs, today the sky was a bit hazy here, so not the best day to try the colors rendering of the sky.
But I hope I can get nice colors like on your pics!

Indeed, your version's phottos look nice but, since it is a private version,BtB said that it is generally better to use public versions. That's why i finally chose to install MGC_8.1.101_A9_GV1n_MGC. :)
    Hi, I got noob question.
I tried installing gcam apks and got it running. I take picture and I click on view photo on the right. It loads the picture for half a saecond and turns black.

I don't know the cause, i tried different versions of gcams on this thread.
First of make sure you are loading .xml config, if still doesn't work then go to settings / advanced and enable "Use different gallery app" not sure how exactly it's called in english
Any gcam that has working video image stabilization? I'm using 8.1.101 and there is virtually no difference using standard or normal image stabilization option.

In the Telegram Poco X3 Photography group
    a) member Park Q claims Marco's 7.3_GCam_MJL_v4.3_Minilux.apk (2020-08-31, oneplus 6/6t) is optimized for 582 and 586 sensor. He has also posted two configuration XML files (Flat & Zoom)
    b) member Team XKlaus claims MGC_8.1.101_A9 (BSG, 2021-03/04) allows 4k @ 60fps

Searching for "IMX582 celsoazevedo" I found the following:
    UltraCVM_v4.apk (UltraM8, 2020-05-10, configs)
    UltraCam_3.2.3.apk (UltraM8, 2020-02-19, configs)
UltraM8 bases off Urnyx05 or Arnova8G2 versions with additions and tunings ... with main focus on the IMX586 sensor (primary device Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro).

In Config Files for burial's GCam 7.2.x there is Xiaomi Mi A3 » mi-a3-x.j.b.-ver.1.xml which contains the string: Main Sensor: IMX582 (same as IMX586 without 4K and Stab
(Xiaomi Mi A3 has Sony IMX586 Exmor RS)

I need to look into this but share so we may find some basic optimization based on existing IMX582(586) configs what GCams might be good.

    Just to clarify my focus:
    a) good natural daylight main cam pictures (no oversharpening, no oversaturation, etc.)
    b) 1080p 24fps EIS ExtraSmooth (Steady) Videos (no refocus, no pumping, no artefacts) possibly with UltraWide for less crop
    c) Special Features like 1) Time Lapse 2) Slow motion 3) Night etc.
    d) 4k 24fps EIS as good as possible like 1080p

    I made a GSheet comparison: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...kpsmnix1jUWCr2SMdPl_wprc8/edit#gid=1775206814
New BSG update with manual focus, quite nice!!

2 good XMLs attached as well, test and see which one you prefer
    R4 by @myselflatu
    Jole V2 by user *edm
    (both from Telegram group)

Edit: Previous Jole 1.4 would still work if you don't like v2 which is a brand new one.
Updated and new XMLs, all credits to their authors
    Advice from Telegram:

Ronit for accurate colors on all lens + details (that's R6.2)
Jole for punch colors on wide and macro
Melon for visual color orgasm on main cam

Melon and Jole by same author.

More xmls are shared on Telegram.
    I'm trying this:

And it is working properly, thanks @ChriMo
link?! no news on the grapevine :p
imho, the best cam is MGC by BSG
Note: i've not tested that very latest version... In case of issue, previous version should work:
And this XML seems to be good (see attached)
