I just noticed something, when taking a video with the latest version 0.5 the colors are the same tone as the stock camera app. Can that be used to determine the correct color balance?

Edit: works on regular videos and with AR stickers

Another day, another test workaround for colors. Thanks to @Arnova8G2 for some help.

OP6v0.5_GoogleCamera-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-V8
-Added Nexus 6 HDR+ Config toggle (this is the old config with better focus)
-Added Reduce SD845 Tint toggle (same effect as v0.2 MGC)
-Added Manual AWB Gains toggle and 4 color choices below it
--Enable Manual AWB Gains and adjust the numbers until you see a decent color image. See if your settings look good in most lighting conditions. Mine are currently at Red 1.5 / Green 1 1.0 / Green 2 1.0 / Blue 2.0 but it has to be changed to 2.0/1.0/1.0/1.5 in different lighting conditions but I don't have a lot of time to tinker with it.

-Open settings after installation and go back to Camera or force close app

It won't work. This is for the 6 and not 5/T. There are a lot of versions way more stable for those models, why would you come and search GCam for your phone here? If you need help join the telegram group for them ( t.me/gcamOneplus ).

Ok more rigorous testing cstark:. So I managed to tinker with awb numbers and got indoors to be perfect as stock app! However... When I step outside in bright bright daylight, there's tinting of reddish and blue. No matters what combo I used for outside, it shows tint. In bright but away from direct light, ie .. if I stand underneath a shaded tree, it looks fine. These are all tested using the BSG version. Tag me once u have another test up. Thanks guys!

Also I don't think google camera is better than default camera ?
I suggest you to see the difference between 3T stock against 3T gcam - whole different level of picture.

Yet, keep in mind that it's in alpha and still in development, try to help the developer and not decrease his moral...

For me, OP6v0.4GoogleCamera-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-V8 provides the most accurate color and consistent results in different lighting situations. There is one extra step I have to do is to apply the auto correction or adjustment in the picture gallery right after taking a picture to remove the green, pink, etc. tint layer based on the lighting situation. The built-in tint reduce setting doesn't work well.

Edit: will try to upload the rest of pictures.

Write your awb numbers for indoors please. We need to have as much data as possible.

My numbers won't help at all bc it's specific to s9+. Also, the problem lies in snap 845 chipset white balance as discussed, I was just testing since s9+ has it.

OP6v0.1_MGC_5.1.018_FINAL_3.4A Still has the color tint issue but the Pixel profile toggle works and ZSL HDR+ mode works, but is VERY LAGGY. If you click the photo thumbnail then go back to camera you can usually take a photo with ZSL HDR+ before it lags again.
-Install OP6v0.2_MGC
-Clear Data
-Open app, accept permissions
-Open Camera settings>BSG Mod settings>enable Pixels auto-HDR+
-Force close
