If someone has the phone already, it would be good to try a camera2 API test link this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.airbeat.device.inspector
If camera2 API is enabled, maybe this one works: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-arnova8G2/f/dl0/
It's also possible that the dev needs to enable the app for this phone, so we need to wait or ask him
The apks from Arnova are also optimized for samsung devices. But every phone needs to be enabled to use it and they only get enabled if he has enough testersI just got my phone a couple days ago. I can try giving it a shot, but I don't really know what would be the best way to test it.
So it should be possible to enable Gcam for this phone? It has the Snapdragon 750GCamera2 API and RAW/DNG are requirements for GCam. To get better support, the SoC should be a Snapdragon (like Pixel phones) as Exynos and especially Mediatek/Kirin have bad or no GCam support. Since it seems that Nikita's version works, then this phone should support both.
The processor doesn't matter for apps like Open Camera, only for GCam as Google optimises it for the hardware they use.
Mind sharing your config file?
Arnova and BSG are two of the most popular gcam modders and I know that Arnova has to unlock each smartphone he has tested individually. I found less information about BSG, because he publishes the apps in a Russian forum. So I just tested the latest version. Since our smartphone has Android 11 and is very new, I'm sure the latest will work best and hopefully in the future will be optimized for the device. In general, the choice of APKs depends on which devices it was optimized for. I don't know any version for this device at the moment. Why that version in particular? I don't know the difference between all the apks
Hi,I'm still getting better results during the day with the default camera app, though.
I can also confirm that BSG's version works better for me with video, including 4k.
I added Samsung default camera photo to the comparison...I was just saying that the BSG has more working video options by default (e.g. 4k). I never compared the two for photos. The only thing I compared were photos from Nikita and Samsung's app in low light (Nikita wins hands down) and in bright sunlight (where Samsung's was more color accurate and has just a bit more detail).
Your info is good to know, though. Hopefully as more people start using the phone and the GCam apps are optimised for it the photo quality will improve. It is still very soon to tell.
Only some package names can use all the cameras and features. Every brand and on every phone it's different. That's why they release the apks with different package names. I don't know which names do work on the A52, but I took this one, because it works on other Samsung phones with Android 11 too.
