The human audible spectrum is said to be 20Hz-20Khz indeed but this is a theoretical norm and would maybe apply to the majority of perfectly healthy human toddlers sitting in a soundproof chamber. Reality is more like @Meteordust says.

Before hifi DIN standardisation the norm was even more like 40hz-16Khz. Still capable of provoking eargasms if the equipment and setup is off good manufacture.

Myself do yearly test for my work and only hear 9 kHz and under....
I'm over 50, but due work as an engineer, engine rooms, I damaged my hearings a little bit.

I will also remove the resistor but it is a pitty we do not have shematics. Just by curiousity.

As I look at the pics seems the resistor is connected to the smd cap underneath and also connected to the component in parallel alongside the cap. So removing the resistor is disabling some filter it seems. No deal disabling that filter if it only introduces noise. Could indeed be an oscillating circuit...

I should get my ears checked also, I notice I begin missing on some high details even with my best hifi setups... I also hear the background noise on the HU but it isn't really bothering me. Music on the road is only entertainment for me, the real joy I get from my home hifi setups or going to live performances occassionally. Then I am more critical (+focussed).

Yeah well ive lived with hearing noise and sounds way above most other peoples ability all my life. Those cat-scare noisethings people put up make me nauseous...

Anyway, phone cant measure the noise thats there, but its still audible. Just barely shows up in video recordings.

Heres a waterfall graph of pre mod atleast, ive highlighted it since the automute kicks in after a second or so. (Cars idling, therefore the low freq **** thats constant)
I can make an equal graph post mod, but since phone can barely record it, it wont show up on the graph.

Been wondering about that aswell, its kinda hard to trace the circuitry but its trace leads into some weird front-mounted components i cant really clearly identify. Here, ive marked all but 1 of the endpoints of that resistors rear facing pcb trace.

Top image is directly behind the DSP chip, bottom image labeled amp or dsp is about 4mm off from the main socket pins, and goes through directly under the big ass 6800uF cap, so i dont think it connects to the amp anyway.

Question for those who know everything and hear like a bat. In your car, tweeter transmits high frequencies, its sensitivity is up to 20000 Hz, how can you hear 24-28 thousand ??? Twitter doesn't make that sound, are you familiar with the audio system at all, how does it work? Install SPECTRA PLUS on your laptop, get in the car and measure, at the same time you will learn how to tune the music and understand the edge of your hearing. Don't listen to fairy tales

Alrighty then mr audio engineer, what mic would be best suited for picking up very high frequency noise? I dont exactly have a fking oscilloscope so i cant hook that up to the speaker leads - im just going by "ear".

Don't take it too serious mate ...it is all about genetics...what you mention is just the average.

We talked about distorted sounds right?

Many speakers on the market with far beyond the 20 kHz range, but that's not the point.

He just found out that with removing the resistor also a higher kHz of distortion gets away.
But maybe i'm not clever enough 🫣

I will explain why the majority of the radio does not play as well as the native radio played. The head unit is tuned to your acoustics, each acoustic is different in everything, like the interior of each car, and the manufacturer makes these settings initially. When you buy a new radio, absolutely any, at any cost, it is not tuned to your acoustics and your car, so it simply does not play, and all the proposed saved equalizers will play badly. In order for your radio to play beautifully and loudly, you need to adjust the equalizers. You need to skip the Sweep signal, 20-20000 Hz and you will hear that the sound is not uniform, then louder then quieter. The sound should go evenly and approximately in the same range. A professional will be able to adjust the Sweep signal by ear, but a simple person is unlikely. There is a way for the deaf to do this)
Believe me, installing equalizers is a huge increase in quality and volume! The volume is definitely enough for you, but you can make the quality even better only with the help of an amplifier, but this is a completely different topic. But I think there are those people who are satisfied with it, or everything coincided well and the music plays more or less normally.

I promised to tell you how to set up the radio.
1- download the SPECTRA PLUS program to the laptop, it is free for a month, and then see for yourself. Install the Frequency Sound Generator program on your phone. Program for android, for iPhone look for yourself.

2 - download sweep signal the link below and run it in the SPECTRA PLUS program. We save the result at the maximum values. Now we see how the sound card works on a laptop, and we can consider this graph as ideal, we will stream to it.
3 - we go into the equalizer on the radio, set the filter from 60 hertz as in the second photo. We go into the equalizer mode and turn on the user settings. We download sweep signal to the flute or to the radio tape recorder. We turn on the radio volume to 15, turn on the graph recording in SPECTRA PLUS on the laptop and start sweep signal. We need to take the chart off the radio. Now we see all deviations from the schedule.
4 - we start playing with the equalizer settings, where we need to raise, where we need to lower. All values in hertz coincide with the equalizers on the radio. Please note that if we raise or lower one scale, then with it the wave and neighboring scales should smoothly rise or fall.
We adjusted the equalizers, then launched sweep signal again and took readings in SPECTRA PLUS. See what happened and move on.
If it’s hard for you to find the scale that needs to be adjusted, turn on the Frequency Sound Generator program, start the sound through the bluetooth on the radio and start looking for what scale we need, I did it in order to have a general concept.
I spent an hour setting it up and you can see what I got in the third photo. Then we make fine adjustments as we like.
There is also such an item in the setting as to select any frequency and amplify it, usually it is low frequencies, I selected 87 hertz and set the values to 9, this gives a good bass. Play around with these settings depending on the style of the music. 4th photo.
There is another important setting like delay. You are not sitting in the center of the car and the sound does not reach you evenly, here you can adjust all this. But I don’t use this setting, because I set up the radio not only for myself, but also for the passenger. This topic is well open on YouTube, search.
The main problem is that I cannot save user settings, either it is not possible in this firmware, or I have not found how. You may accidentally press the default button and all settings will be lost. If you know how to save settings or download them, write! At the end of the photo is what I got on the equalizers. Sound after tuning heaven and earth. Perhaps you have super hearing and can do all this without programs, but I could not.

So the upper picture is the power line, among others, of the DSP pin 40 (DVDD1), the recommended voltage is 3.3V.
I did not take a photo when I had the power capacitor removed, I would know what this resistor connects.

First you need to manually set the brightness levels when the headlights are on and when the headlights are off.
1. Turn on the headlights. Set the desired (low) brightness level.
2. Turn off the headlights. Set the desired (high) brightness level.
3. Turn on the headlights. Get "automatic" brightness reduction.
4. Be happy, smile, drink coffee.

If not your device does not detect the headlight status which can be caused by wrong wiring or can bus settings.

I have a microphone problem. The built-in mic is, as we all know, pretty lame so I connected an external one. That one worked a little better but it stopped working in a very weird way. While testing the microphone (with the voice recording app) I left the radio on and the recording (of the music from the radio) was excellent (even too good considering how the mic was recording voice until then). After that, I couldn't use it (the mic) anymore. It is completely dead for phone calls and for the sound recording app. The only thing it catches now is music playing from the head unit. I guess that some settings changed automatically and now it is completely "deaf" for any sound except the unit itself. I can't get it to work, and google and youtube don't have an answer to my problem. I tried unplugging it, reboot then plugging it back in but nothing seems to help. Can anyone, please, tell me how to get the mic to work again or tell me if a factory reset would bring the head unit to the state where I can make the external mic functional again without losing all preinstalled apps? My model is Ossuret S4 installed in Mazda 3. Details are visible in the picture.

I had this with my Hizpo S8.

I tried to install the Google telephone app.

I installed my SIM-card and made a call via telephone app.

It worked, the telepgone rang (home) but i could not hear my voice after the call on the call recorder.

And the microphone was dead.

I had to reboot the head unit. After this my mic was good again.

Though it is not always a solution in stead of doing a factory reset you could also try updating firmware & mcu as there are later versions available for S4 anyhow. Maybe this will fix it. Search the firmware thread for the files. Be sure to choose the option not to delete user data in upgrade settings. How to can also be found in the general thread here.

Thank you. The unit is already up to date. I did update a few days ago. the picture I have attached is 2 weeks old. I wrote to Ossuret store also and now I'm waiting for their reply. I'll post it here if I ever get it.

anyone can explain me what happend, because it is against the logic. I puted a cooper plate on cpu, i used mx4 paste (just i got it at home). And the temps are 46-48 in idle. erlier i had there a thermopad 6w/mk, and in the same condition the temps were 39-43. So I dissasembly it again, but everything look ok, the paste stick right. so I clean it, put a thermo paste again (on both side of cooper plate ofcourse). But the results are the same, pretty high temp in idle
