BTW, I don't know if this was already discussed here, but I was surprised to find out that a factory reset did not clear all my data off the unit.
I see from the first post that the config script has different possible commands to wipe partitions, and that there's a partition of memory considered like an SD card. I guess that's the storage for things like media and downloads. I found screenshots still saved there from when the device was new and I was setting it up, and they survived multiple "factory resets", as well as folders for apps I haven't used since the first time I tried them and then removed them... also persisted past multiple "factory resets".
Even more interesting, however, is that at least on my Atoto unit, some settings for the system are stored there as well and not reset! Paired bluetooth phones for example, exist in their own UI and survive factory resets. So does the default launcher and certain settings like camera resolution and layout.
I tried a twipe all command from the OP, and finally have a unit reset to factory defaults. It reset my camera resolution, and asked me which of the 2 included default launchers to use by default (I haven't seen that since it was new!).
This means:
a) If something is weird and you want to try a fresh factory reset to see if it fixes things, the factory reset button DOES NOT ACTUALLY RETURN TO DEFAULTS. I think one of my settings persisted and caused problems and I could not figure out why until now.
b) If you ever return / sell a unit, you might have personal data still on it even if you factory reset it.
I apologize if this is common knowledge here, but this sort of blew my mind after nearly 2 months of trying to figure this out.
