I cant apply the update nomatter what I do :( I keep getting the same error.

I even did a full factory reset then tried uthe upgrade and still was not able to update it. I also used the img provided by @vogemic without success :( Quite messed up. I do not know how else to try this.

I wonder if Lenovo is just having a good time f....gging with people who decide the unlock the bootloader.

Maybe someone can do a full reset update/upgrade and provide the TWRP images so we can use those maybe?

Man I am so glad we have a way to make full system backup/restore. It is really frustrating to me that no manufacturer and Google provide us ways to do that by default. I own the device but I am not the root owner of the device, this is plain wrong. We go through so many jumps spend nedless ours to root devices. This should be a frigging basic right.

LIke I said, full factory reset then upgrade did not work. I do not know what else we can try. However I would be more than happy if someone else help me out here.

a factory reset won't help, because rooting your yoga book changed the boot partition slightly which creates a mismatch when the update script checks your system.

i had this issue once and had to go back to full stock and then apply one update after another...
you either
(1) restored a boot partition which doesn't fit your system partition, which creates a mismatch and therefore fails
or
(2) the restored version of boot / system is just 'too old' to apply the newest update. then you also have to update via ota again, one after another, until you get the newest update (instead of trying to install the newest zip via recovery directly)

so if you have a twrp backup of stock boot, stock system and stock recovery (so a original one all of the same build, which was done before rooting), restore them and then check system updates in setting...you might be presented an update (maybe an older one) try to install it.
if succeeded check if theres an ota update again. repeat it until you get the newest one.
then before rooting again, make a full back up.

if it doesn't work, tell me.

Hi danjac

Thank you for your help. After reading your post I went through all my backs ups (all were full backups) and I found one that did was done just before rooting and that worked out.

Anyone needing to upgrade with root needs to apply a boot image backup that was pre root. That seems to eb the onyl way.

Miracast

Is anyone experiencing issues with Miracast (casting) after the update? I can't mirror for the life of me anymore. And I use this heavily. Don't like the idea of Chromecast either because I am restricted to only places with WiFi.

Future Stock Rom?

Hey, I'm also in the position of being unable to upgrade due to having rooted. I also don't have a backup available. Is it possible that future updates, particulary Nougat if we receive it, will be available as Roms we're able to flash? (Excuse any stupid questions, I know very little of Android development.)

Thanks =)

If anyone has a stock boot.img for an YB1-X90F they can upload for me I'd appreciate it. Something went wrong during my flashing and I can boot up but neither wifi nor bluetooth will even turn on. I have the update files still, but I didn't have a boot.img backup for whatever reason. I'd really prefer not to have to pay a 3rd party for the stock images, which seem to be the only option with this device...
