For me the same

There must be a german firmware out right now.
The G1 is now available for 2 days in Germany and Austria.

Yesterday I held a german G1 in my Hand. There is no build no. containing the "RC" string, only a 5 or 6 digit number starting with 12 as far as I can remember. So forget "RC30" or "RC8" for comparision purposes.

This german forum topic:
http://www.android-hilfe.de/t-mobile-g1-forum/177-root.html

suggests that german G1s have:

Build: 123099
Firmware Version: 1.1 (so not longer a RC == Release Candidate)

I will receive my german G1 in the next days, am looking forward to a rooting possiblitiy. Hopefully they did not change too much on the bootloader.

Reverting to the 'official' version is also important. Can an image be dumped right out of the phone? Or do we need to wait for an OTA?

Thanks, greetings from Berlin

The keyboard is german style.

I hope someone will solve that somehow. I really love to have JF's great firmware... And I am still not sure if I should get a G1 or not. So this would make my decision a lot easier. ;)

Is there a way we could help the developers?

Do you have access to all apps on the market with a german g1?

As soon as german rooted image is available, I would switch from my rc8, then.

German [rooted] Image

I'd be happy to get a german image to put on my US-phone (RC30), as I am living in Germany and bought the phone a few weeks ago in the US. Rooted would be perfect, but the "regular" image would do for now.

Any ideas (or files or url's), anyone?
