Hi. I'm getting a Nexus 6p and would like a little advice. The device I'm getting has been working flawlessly since the guy got it, the only problem was the battery which got replace about a month ago. Now my question starts here, when I'm going to install the custom rom etc... Should I use the blod patch as a precaution In case the performance clusters conk out? I don't use heavy 3d games etc just 2d text based and what custom rom runs fairly smooth on the lower cluster. Sorry to ask but had to so I can prevent mistakes from happening. Cheers.

a53 performance better than a57 and it cooler (because a57 always too hot),in geekbench 4 four core a53(shutdown all a57)than it can get single core score:600+,multi core score:2700+.In fact, this result are similar than my nexus 5(S:900+,M:2800+),you know, the nexus 5 is a pretty good phone ,s800 so smooth .Sorry for my english.

Understood you're explanation fine. And I had a couple of Nexus 5s. Nothing major I know of has happened to the 6p yet, but should I still go the 4 core route if the 8 cores still work?

You will have more choices if you have a complete Nexus 6p,flash custom rom will more easy:)

I'm in the same situation. I got a Nexus 6p for a steal and replaced the battery and volume buttons.

I was going to flash a custom ROM but I've decided to stick with stock Oreo, root and run it like that. I'm not bothering with the BLOD patch - if it breaks it breaks.

It rarely gets hot with stock with everyday use (I'm not a gamer) but I'm not sure that is the case with custom ROMs.
