Getting bootloader unlock code from Huawei

Thx for this?I got my bootloader code from Huawei web site, after some stuggelin. I have had the tablet for one day M5 8.4 LTE and I just love it

Please Help ...... Hi I am in Australia and have a WiFi only Mediapad M5 10.8 model CMR_W09_V4. I believe its a Chinese version from Hong Kong but it has been preloaded as a non-Chinese device with google etc pre-installed.

I am having trouble getting the Bootloader Unlock code for this device.

I have followed holi0317's (thanks holi0317) procedure using the resend request feature in a Firefox Browser on a PC. Everything seems to go to plan until the very last part.

After editing the "Request Body" I press send but I get the same message back saying "SN and IMEI are mismatched".

When I examine the response there is no unlock code , just this ... {"msg":"imei_sn_mismatch"}

I inspected the Request Body and its clear that it is a repeat of the original unedited script. In other words the version of the script I edited seemed to be lost and the resend function sent the unedited version. So for some reason it seems my edited script is not saving and therefore the unedited response is being re-sent resulting in no unlock codes

I am guessing that there is a setting or two in the debugger which I may need to toggle. .. Since I am unfamiliar with this stuff I really need some help please.

I would very much appreciated it if anyone who is familiar with this stuff could give me some directions...

Not planning to root my tablet anytime soon but it will be nice to have an bootloader unlock code

Hi vibecatalin, I can tell you what I did to get past the place you are stuck at.

1. Before you press "Commit" on Huawei's web page you hit F12 on your keyboard which opens the Web Debugger on Firefox Browser. (I guess you past that point).

2. Next set the Web Debugger to "NETWORK" from the TABS that appear across the top of the Debugger window (towards the right side).

3. Now press "Commit" after the fields are filled as per
holi0317's instructions ... (Dont forget to imput the 4 character verification code).

4. Next you will notice at the bottom of the Debugger window is a few enteries (in my case 2) . Click on the top entry and details will open to the right of the Window with the button ""Edit and Resend" somewhere towards the bottom.

5. Click on "Edit and Resend" button. This opens the "New Request Window".

6. Scroll to the bottom of the "New Request Window" and you will see the "Request Body" which is what I believe must be edited according to holi0317's instructions. Dont forget to update the 4 character verification code in the script because it changes after you pressed"Commit" earlier .

7. After you edit the script as per holi0317s instructions scroll to the top of the Debugger window and on the top right side is the New Request "Send" button. Click it !

8. Next, in the same Debugger window (Sligtly Above) you will see the TAB Button... "Response" ... click it and scroll down to see the Response Payload... This is where I believe our unlock code should be if it works... (someone please correct me if I'm wrong).

This is were I am stuck... I get this message {"msg":imei_sn_mismatch"} . When I go to "Edit and Resend" again I see the original script was sent .... not my edited version..... If you can get past this point please let me know how to do it.

I am currently also trying to get the unlock code by paying 4 Euro and using the application DC-Unlocker. Apparently others have had success with this and its cheap enough to try.

Just tried and I don't know if I got it right...

Under "response" tab I got this: {"msg":"xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"} the X's are 16 capital letters and numbers in a random sequence. Could that be the unlock code?

Hi Lord Vader... it sounds very promising. .. We retrieved a unlock code from the site a few days ago for Huawei GR5 phone and it was only random numbers no characters. Maybe someone who has succeeded for an M5 Tablet may be able to confirm.

Did you do anything different to me to get your result... if so please share ?

The 16 letters and numbers are your unlock code.

Yep, that method worked for me also. At first I didn't realize it was the unlock code.

What was the last day Huawei give bootloader codes? Was it today? Dont remember what date it was? there where when I got my unlock code, but there was a statement.

I just followed the procedure outlined in the first post of this thread and it worked for me. I'm in Canada but I'm using the ID info from a US model of the M5 8.4.

That's too bad. I put in IMEI "123456789012345" because IMEI contains 15 numbers. Don't know if that helps at all, but worth trying...

Thanks Lord Vader for your suggestion. I didn't end up trying it because I managed to get the Bootloader Code using the DC - Unlocker application. .. it only cost 4 Euro but was easy to do and worth it to save further hassles.

For anyone who may be having trouble getting the Bootloader Unlock Code for an M5 Tablet I can report that DC-UNLOCKER worked for me for my Huawei M5 10.8 wifi Tablet model CMR-W09. I cannot yet confirm if this code will work because I haven't tried to use it yet. Not sure if it's mentioned elsewhere, but here's a WAY easier way to force the unlock form to work correctly.

Select "Since EMUI5.0", then in the url bar type:

javascript:$('#model').val(unpt.wifiModel)

and it should force it to switch to WiFi tablet and work correctly. Just ignore the IMEI field and it'll submit and return the correct code.

I have had a further confusing development:-

IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENT

I was able to retrieve a Bootloader Unlock code from the Huawei Website yesterday using the script method before it was shut down.

But unfortunately the Unlock Code I got from the Huawei Website is completely different from the Unlock Code which I retrieved from DC-Unlocker.

The code retrieved from DC Unlocker is all Digits while the code from the Huawei Website is Digits and Characters.

This causes me a little concern.. I haven't tried either Unlock Code yet so I can't tell for sure which, if any, are correct.

On the XDA Developer website I have noticed some people have reported unlocking bootloaders with codes extracted with DC Unlocker and others claim the codes didn't work for them...

In my case I won't know for sure until I try and unlock the Bootloader on my M5. At present I am taking my time to collect and verify the needed components to root the device...
