GingerLOL thread for people who can't post on the dev section

I was about to start spamming xda to reach the 10 posts but I give up and I'm starting this thread.

Here's the deal: I'm running GingerLOL with Franco's Kernel, smartass, no OC and I can't use wifi tethering. An error message appears under the tethering activation box and I can't connect any devices to it. These devices manage to connect to the phone, but they can't access the internet. I've also noticed that no error message shows up if I have the data connection off.

I believe it has nothing to do with the kernel since franco's latest build has no wifi tweaks.

bob data roaming

Hi!

I have GingerLOL 1.5 installed as per instructions. Everything works great, except it tells me I am roaming whien I am not really. (http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=3499) I am using a bob (232/11) SIMcard which "roams" in the A1 (232/01) network.

I found a workaround by installing spn-conf.xml in /system/etc with chmod 644, but that changes nothing. (http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1011633) with the entry "<spnOverride fake_home_on="23201" numeric="23211"/>"

Also, there seems to be an option in CM7 for "National Roaming" - is this also possible in GingerLOL or is it CM7 specific and not Android 2.3?

Any other solution? The point is I don't want to have Data Roaming on by default to avoid unexpected high roaming data charges!

(I switched from void.echo where this problem did not exist.)

Do you have any issues with wifi data tethering?

tethering works normally (writing this over on the laptop through the 3g connection of the phone).

Just reflashed the rom. Seems to be working.
