Glass broke, what's the best option for repairs?

So, I've been so silly to drop my Mi 5S a little while ago and the glass of the front-side broke, together with a slight damage in the aluminium part of the phone.
Now, I happen to stumble upon one slight problem:
I bought my Xiaomi Mi 5S on eBay, importing it from the UK and their service said that if it breaks and it's outside of my warranty; I'll have to pay shipping costs.

I live in the Netherlands myself and I'm not the best at reparing smartphones myself.
So then, my question is...

What's the best option here?
I have a lot of repair shops asking me 150+ euro's and it could be better if I knew what part to order myself, because one shop said that they ask this much because the parts are hard and risky to get.
I would like an original replacement and I wouldn't know if it'd be a good idea to get it including a fingerprint scanner or not.

Could anyone advise me on this regard?

Some users mentioned that the fingerprint sensor will always break when replacing the screen. One even got ripped off eventually when a shop said it wouldn't break but they did break it anyway and still asked the full price. So yeah, definitely buy one with fingerprint scanner if you want to replace it yourself. Otherwise, don't really know anything about repairs unfortunately.

Goedemorgen landgenoot,

To be honest I'm surprised you actually found shops that knew what to do with the phone in the Netherlands. Haven't heard or seen anyone that ever saw the phone before.
With that in mind I don't think €150 is a bad price. The question is if it will actually be an official screen.

I strolled the internet myself beceause my screen has a small crack too. But I gave up. Also after seeing the videos of the DIY's it had put me off trying myself

Not much help, I know.

Good luck
