Not that it's not a significant accomplishment, but is that the hardware mod he was talking about? There's only a small minority of users willing to take it to the hardware level to flash. Heck, a large number of people are worried about a simple ODIN flash.

Edit: Sorry, I'm not a developer. I got linked around and didn't realize where I ended up.
Reminds me of my G1 days... To forever well like 45 min to do all those crazy commands... I'm still down even if it's a hardware mod.

Same here. I am patiently waiting to root till I can do it right (as in, do a tradition flash your recovery, then su) rather than some hacky bootstrap trickery like the droid x etc

Huh... I root can be done now and it's not trickery... In order to do anything like add a custom recovery you are going to have to odin your device

If they didn't use a hardware hack and get the device to boot the from anouther bootloader then this truly is awesome..

Thank you very much E:V:A
:good:

For GT-I9300 I have ""modified"" your hint:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35103189&postcount=21

For me work this to kill sboot:

Code:
~ # ←[6necho 0 > /sys/block/mmcblk0boot0/force_ro
echo 0 > /sys/block/mmcblk0boot0/force_ro
~ # ←[6necho 0 > /dev/block/mmcblk0boot0
echo 0 > /dev/block/mmcblk0boot0
~ # ←[6npoweroff
poweroff
At the moment not sure if 1 or both Commands successfully...

twrp-2.4.0.0-i9300.tar
To have access to mmcblk0boot0...

Then I was able to restore sboot with this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/galaxy-s-iii-gt-i9300-hard-brick-fix-t1916796

Tweezer ...

Now I can play with PCB and different methods... :victory:

Best Regards
