Wow - after all this time, still no development going on for the MyTouch 4G huh? :( So how long do you have to wait for that SGS2, dj?

Has anyone seen John Connor?

Its my time to say good bye to the Fascinate. I was very excited when the device was released as it was my introduction into the droid world. Coming from the Blackberry Storm, I figured that anything would function better than that heap of crap. On day one of receiving my Fascinate, without realizing the fact I was a droid newbie, I rooted the phone and removed all Verizon crapware. Thanks to XDA, I have learned a lot. What was disappointing was, if it were not for XDA, i would have trashed my Fascinate as it appeared that both Verizon and Samsung simply gave up on it. This week my Galaxy Nexus will arrive and I hope like hell I will not have to totally rely on XDA just to have a proper working phone. Samsung, this is your last shot! Although, I will continue to use XDA for ROMs and other enhancements but if it turns out that I can not have a reliable phone without XDA, this will be my last Samsung. Good bye Fascinate, hello Galaxy Nexus.

I'm only 9 months into my 2 year contract, so unless I want to spend a lot of cash, which I don't, I'm sticking with my Fascinate. Plus, I actually don't see anything right now at Verizon that makes me want to dump my Fascinate. I played with everything out right now, and nothing blew me away, not even the GNEX. Just me I guess. But that may change by Q2 next year, depending on what gets released. With Superclean, I'm loving my phone. So for me it's not good bye, it's hello again...for now.

I highly doubt this will happen. But who knows, I would love to be wrong.

The blood bath known as Chicago IL.
well it might be a while but here some info that might say we are: http://global.samsungtomorrow.com/?p=8894
I bet all those devices listed have 512mb+ of ram (didn't check specs of each). But unless the update includes a hardware mod to give it the missing 128mb that ics needs then the first gen galaxy s phones will never see an "official" ics update.

good day.

That's a good point as well. I'll be trying the "unofficial" ICS soon most likely, to give my Fascinate extended life through the spring hopefully.

technically Samsung is required to keep our phones updated through the pact they and the other major carriers had with google but I don't think it was legally binding.

iirc the agreement was for 18 months post launch...but

-i dont know if it included phones already launched prior to it
-if the fascinate would qualify as a reg sgs1 phone which launched in may/june of 2010, not the sept 2010 date on verizon (as its just a variant)

either way tw ics wont ever happen on this phone unless something wacky happens at samsung and they decided to invest the money in it

Perhaps our favorite Uberdev will port SGS2 TouchWiz ICS to the Fascinate ;)
Phones launched prior to that agreement were not included from what I read about it when it first happened.

I got my own G-Nex today, finally... I can't really say goodbye though because I'm still keeping my Fascinate...

Has anyone seen John Connor?

i think you will like the inc2, imo its comparable performance wise to the fascinate

stock its miles better than the fascinate, but when comparing rooted rom/kernel vs rom/kernel its more even

and we have about 6 or 7 tsm roms on the inc2

I've checked them out already. Nitsuj you are insane! You're responsible for 15/30th of all vivow roms.
I was impressed with how they improved hd video recording, at least in the latest December release. Pain in the ass to roll it back to 2. 3. 3 to acquire root though
