Yeah. It's gonna be tough. Ha ha
But I'm keeping my M20X just in case. [emoji16]
LOL yes I understand u.

I bought Sammy Note 9 before Mare 20X, i had it for 1 week, then I sold it again because of the midget display.

Was to tiny for me, i now know i never can go back to a small display phone agsin [emoji23]

Problem is, what company is going to make our M20X replacements??? It seems that the current trend is to keep the largest phones around 6.4 inches.

Yes, but nothing new.
I'm just happy to have a Real flagshipp phone this time, before M20X I took what I could find with Big display.

I'll be keeping my Mate 20X for at least another year. Best phone I've owned, hands down. I do think Huawei might surprise us...

No thanks to high failure rates . Hence why I stay well clear of Asus , Xioami, ZTE. Only two Chinese makers for me OnePlus and Huawei. Rest are trash.

ASUS is not Chinese.
I use the Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra for around 27 month, one of my best phones ever and I still have it.
Always works for me [emoji4]

Or maybe Samsung once they have successfully integrated AMD GPU on their upcoming flagships.

Things that matter to me are large screen, large battery, true stereo speakers, and exceptional performance. So it could be the next Kirin 1000 based mate xx or any other brands that provide those features.

I'll be honest.. I thought my Mate 20 X included the ability to root but obviously the instructions posted online were old and outdated. On one hand I'm totally pissed that I cannot change my launcher or use OK GOOGLE or use the recorder feature because Huawei decided I should not be allowed to modify or control my own device.

From what I gather Huawei locked the boot loader because third party suppliers were intercepting the phones, unboxing them, installing malware then delivering infected phones to customers. When people complained they would blame Huawei for sending personal data to the PRC or selling poor quality phones.

So now I'm kinda stuck in the middle. If my mom bought a Mate would I feel better knowing her phone was safe? or would I prefer to know she has more control over her device?

I'm hoping Huawei will find a better solution.

100% same as u.
In. My world a Big phone with 19:9 is minimum 7 inch. But I prefer 16:6 6,8 inch
I don't care of brand at all.

My priority is:
1. Big display
2. Big battery
The rest is not that important for me nowadays, most phones in 2019- have okay specs.

But if I can get my 2 top priorities in a phone/phones, i buy this with best specs.

Last year I had Samsung Note 9, all to tiny for me.
Then MI Max 3, then Honor 8x max, then Honor note 10 and since December 2018 my dear beloved Mate 20X.
Every time I bought a phone a new was released short after... First time ever I remember that many Big phones the same year [emoji3]
And now in 2019 Nothing, not even 1 Big phone is released... Hmmmmmmm.
Dad is mad.

I love that guy Peter Schmeichel. After all I've been a UTD fan since 1984.

Realme X2 pro? Much cheaper? but build, battery, camera still behind the mate 20x that is almost year old.
I hate the walled garden, but I still can't see any other contender ... so far the oneplus 7T the best for me...

C'mon Huawei... give us a christmas miracle and allow the bootloader opening for rebranding purposes ... or at least allow google full, and launcher stuff.

I agree. OnePlus 7T and their superb oxygen OS. I had a regular OnePlus 7 once.

I've been using the Pixel 4 XL for the last week, but find myself wanting to go back to my M20X. Obviously, the main pull back to it is the screen size, but I'm missing the overall feel and function of it as well. And the battery life. Can't forget about that. The P4XL is a snappy, well made phone though, with lots of pros.
