When I try to send a text message using Google Assistant Go on my galaxy watch 4, it says that it is sending the message, but it never appears in the messages app on my watch or my phone. Has anyone else experienced this?

"Also won't send text messages. Says it will, but nothing is actually sent."

Are you using the stock Samsung app or the Google messaging app that is downloaded from play store? I'm not sure but I think it needs to be the Google messages.

That would suck. Personally, I use nothing but Textra. On my Samsung phone, using actual Google Assistant works fine with Textra for sending/getting text messages.

Update: I just tried sending a message with GA Go from my GW4. The lyin ho said she was sending the message. Later when I checked to see if it was really send, nothing but crickets.

So I'm not sure what's going on. But I tried again with No success. However, calling does work.

Yep so it seems you're not alone my friend. I could've sworn it worked before... Maybe it needs the native Samsung messages? I uninstalled it on my watch and only use Google messages.

With these Alberto version it seems possible to say "configure WhatsApp" and then even possible to send voice messages. With this go version it's not possible for me.

Also reminder isn't working. If I say like "remind me to bring the garbage out in 15 min", it says ok I'll remind you, but nothing happen. Timer and alarm is working.

Also taking notes or create a list with Google keep does not work.

We have to remember that GA go was designed for a Mobile Device, not watch so the process it uses to complete tasks probably don't line up exactly right with some things and it crashes. For instance, making a call is virtually the same across every device so it works. Opening an app and doing an app action with differ between devices since the UI is different.

Yeah, it's super frustrating. Basically, I have found Bixby to be way more reliable in sending messages and setting reminders.

STILL, the watch is way fast and responsive, in general. A great watch.

I am using the stock Samsung app. That sounds like it will do the trick if I switch. I think I'll likely just use Bixby to text and GA for everything else so I can continue to use the stock messaging platform (which I surprisingly like).

If you're interested in remapping your Bixby Key shortcut to GA, just download and sideload the APK I linked below on your watch and enable GW4 Remap in your accessibility installed services. Tap settings and from here you can configure tasks that run based on certain system events from your watch. You can remap the long pressing of both hardware keys which by default are set to Bixby (Top) and Samsung Pay (Bottom). Now you can't configure anything to launch directly from long pressing of the Hardware keys since Samsung is anal about that. So your options are:

For the top button, you have the option of remapping to launch Google Assistant Go or Ultimate Alexa whenever Bixby OR the power menu is shown. Now, Remapping over Bixby is terrible so I highly recommend going into your watch's advanced settings and changing your top button key shortcut to launch the power menu instead of Bixby when held down. Launching GA Go whenever your power menu is shown is literally instant since whenever another app is launched to the foreground, the power menu instantly closes so most times you won't even see it nor will there be anything else running in the background.

You can add a second task if you wish to launch Google Pay instead of Samsung Pay with the bottom key. Again, very fast switching, almost instant.

If you're feeling froggy , you can launch GA/Alexa from the bottom key and Alexa or Samsung Pay from the top. Or launch GA on top and Alexa on bottom.

Launching something over Bixby causes it to display an error and causes very slow switching to GA. That's is why you should change your settings to Power Menu.

Enjoy!

wow, amazing hack, thanks! Question, some of us have the problem of GA Go timing out and the time appearing on top of GA Go.

Know what fixes that?

Also, any ideas about how to get GA Go to trigger Google Messages?

Can you rephrase your question. Not 100% sure what you mean. Google Assistant Go takes a 2-3 seconds to load if it's not in background. Subsequent launches take less than a second. Especially if you launch it using the hardware key shortcut I linked. I'm shooting Google assistant commands all the time now. Just hold down top button and start talking to GA.

Hmmm.. you mean time is appearing over Google Assistant? That would be an issue with your watch face or most likely Ambient Mode. Are you using watch always on?

To launch ANY app from Google Assistant Go, just say "Open/Launch <Name of App>". So for the messages app, make sure it's set to your default message app and just try saying "Open Messages", Not Google Messages since Its not called that. The issue you might run into is launching the Samsung Messages app instead since both apps are just called "Messages". Try setting your default app like I said and say "Open Messages" or "Open Default Message App" and similar variations. If that doesn't work, you can always uninstall or disable Samsung Messages through ADB so it won't be seen my GA.

Code:
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.messaging

Hey, thanks for the reply. Let me rephrase.

When a few of us say "send text to Joe 'what's up?'"

Google Assistant Go says "okay, sending message."

But nothing happens.

I am using Google Messages.

About the time appearing over GAGO, yes, I am using Always On Display. Maybe I'll try turning it off and seeing what happens w/ GAGO.

Thanks!

So I was able to force connect my Galaxy Watch 4 to the Google Wear OS app on phone while it was connected and setup with Samsung Wearable App... I have a new complication too that is directly from Google and it's called Search .. it works and what it does it launch Google Assistant Go..

The question is how can I get the Google Assistant that that is traditionally used with the Wear OS app? Is it not possible?

Google Assistant on Galaxy Watch 4 classic. Working for me. I follow theses steps

And Download this apk here : https://t.me/newsgw/2028

Google Assistant Go Galaxy Watch 4.apk
6.5 MB

and in your watch 4 go to settings, Apps, Choose default Apps, Digital Assistant App, Choose Google assistant Go and scroll down to OK button. You are done.

I use Bugjaeger 3.0 on my phone to Sideload my Apk's " follow the steps on youtube to sideload apk's from your mobile to your smartwatch.

Bugjaeger 3.0
As of now, what is the best version to use? This one, or the 2.8 version, or another one?

Maybe is 2.8 the same as this one? I'm on 2.8 and experienced a bit lag, but also had it with this version... 😅

Sideload Google Wear OS app and install from play store on your phone. It keeps disabling itself on watch though so you have to go and enable it in the galaxy Wearable App on phone within the app list. If you launch that app from your watch, it actually brings up your Google reminders. You can add new ones too. It just crashed and disables a lot like I said so it's not very efficient.

While the Google app is actively enabled on your watch, go to Wear OS app on phone and pair it. That's it.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT DO THIS THOUGH! Here's why through a pros and cons list:

Pros: ......... A **** Google reminders app that is almost to actually unusable. It does not give you access to Google Assistant which is really the only benefit of it for Wear OS watches. A lot of features are not available for GW4 in Wear OS app .

Cons: You can't switch back to Galaxy Wearable App without resetting your watch. You lose basically all functionality of being able to configure your watch from the wearable app bc the Wear OS essentially has no control features. Honestly I could go on and on with reasons but the message should be clear...

I'm guessing we have to wait for Google to release its Pixel watch to showcase the 'next-gen assistant' before we are allowed to have it. Probably an agreement between Sammy and Goog. I bet it is ready to go right now just waiting on Google to release this watch. I'll be curious to see how soon it comes after the supposed May 26th launch of Pixel Watch.

That would be a very stupid move of Google which would sabotage the broader acceptance of Wear OS 3. So I don't consider it likely.

Google wants more Wear OS 3 market share ASAP. So they won't hold anything back artificially what many people are loudly requesting already now.

MOD EDIT: Quote removed since post removed.

That's been talked about before and it's super sketchy. You have to install some random guys app store, give his app tons of permissions, pay him then you get a limited version of Google assistant.

His telegram group have banned people for asking about the security concerns of his apps permissions. Super sketchy

Hi guys, only want to share my experience trying to install the google app and google assistant in my Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

    1) Download the google app (wear os) on apk mirror

    2) active the developer mode in the watch, turn on debug mode and debug on wifi

    3) install "Wear installer" on my phone and connect to the watch, from here traspassing and install the google app on the watch

    4) the app not show in the launcher, but i can change the predefined assistent app to Google!!! I show you in the pictures added

I have no idea how to make this work, but is promissing!! Maybe somebody read this and can make it, or maybe this almost compatibility mean that the official app is coming in the near futue!

Sorry for my english, im spanish

Unfortunately the official GA isn't avaible in a lot of country (my poor Italy included)... There Is a way to sideload the apk and make It work? Speaking english isn't a problem.
Use Bugjaeger app connect to your watch with wifi adb to your phone and try sideloading this official Google Assitant app pulled from my Watch4Classic 46mm N America Region 😉
