Work on your honor 8X?it worked for me. when i installed it, it were black screen. after restart, it worked. But I can see any difference between Gcam and stock camera app

Try out this version. I tried on kirin 970 but its working great. No crash, even portrait , night sight is working on my Honor play. You can try on your device.

Sorry guys i have bad news for you. Huawei and Honor have officially disabled support for Google camera in their latest EMUI 9. All who got the EMUI 9 will not get the taste of Google camera anymore until they will enable it again. According to the developer Urynx05.
This was my biggest ever mistake i brought the honor phone. These people are disgusting. These people restrict users in all the way. You can't do anything with your mobile.
1: You can't unlock the bootloader
2: Now disabled the support of Google camera
3: Third party launchers are not working well with EMUI 9
4: You can't record the logcat. If you record the logact there will be no meaningful information.
ArnovaG82 did the great job. He did so much hard work to make Google camera compatible with kirin devices. We were enjoying the Google camera on EMUI 8.2. we were happy about it but Huawei and Honor disabled completely in their latest EMUI 9 update.
I am not gonna buy Honor/Huawei smartphone ever again because these people are not giving any freedom to the users.
If Huawei/Honor don't like these things why dont they make their own operating system..

Why no developer interested in developing fully supported GCam for Honor 8x?
There are millions of kirin users why developers will not consider work for kirin devices. There was Google camera for kirin 970 users which was made by Arnova8G2 but unfortunately Huawei/Honor have disabled support for Google camera in the EMUI 9.
After that not a single gcam is working..
These Huawei and Honor are restricting users in all the directions. They don't give any freedom to the users..
What version of Google camera port works (all functions?) on 8x after we have pie update at last?
boys i have good news for you. I have found a gcam where hdr is now processing smoothly without any blue or pink Tint even now portrait is working. I will suggest you the settings.
But I have tried it on Honor play
Instructions:

3. Give all permissions,
4. go to settings --> Saturation Adjustment --> Highlight Sat to 2.5 and Shadow Sat to 3.5
(Or you can set it as per your preference)
Go to Advance settings
5. Go to hdr white balance -> turn on Apply custom white balance multipliers ->
Red -> 90
.green -> 80
.green odd -> 80
. Blue -> 65
6. Close your app and reopen app [needed]
Enjoy Google Camera on your Honor Play you can check it on other devics. i have tried on Honor play
Features working:

- Video (at 1080p)
-Panorama, Photo Sphere

Features NOT working:
- Slow motion
- Due to hdr, front camera is not working properly and there is no option to disable it. This is due to limited hardware access

For honor 8x,Working hdr but only for portrait mode, and image has negative colors during daytime, can be fixed easily by increasing warmth and saturation afterwards. And another problem is that in extremely white regions of a picture, it gets pink, so i will suggest to take pictures by decreasing the white balance. This port has far far better picture quality and sharpness than the stock camera app,but hdr will work only when picture is taken in portrait mode. Has a few issues, ignoring the two problems which i mentioned can be fixed easily, this port has far better clarity and sharpness
