Yeah, I've got my phone updated two days ago and GCam is not working.
I'll update the post if I'm able to find another working APK for EMUI 9 as soon as I can.

The only version with working PORTRAIT mode (on back camera only) is GCam5.1.018-Arnova8G2-V1.7 but the pictures are tinted and I can't seem to find any solution. I'm running my Huawei P20 on EMUI 9.

Fixed vignetting

Well, I've downgraded from pie just to test gcam .. Its mostly awesome except for nightsight in extreme low light, where huawei clearly wins with manual set exposure to 4s (try it out too, noticed that when you set time manually, the night mode quality gets much better). But back to gcam, I've noticed quite annoying vignetting at all circumstances. The middle of picture is brighter, more saturated and warmer than rest of image. Which leads me to my fix I created in lightroom. It was quite pain to fix, cause normal vignetting fix doesnt work, had to do some radial filters, color temperature and tint fix... Well on phone you can try it too, but my advice is to create custom preset in lightroom, then open folder with presets in android/data/adobe ..... just paste the preset and rename it with that preset name thats already there, and delete the old one..

I have tried this on my P20 Pro running Android 9.0 and i'm not certain HDR+ works but at least the application works mostly. Another release which works is the L-G_cam.apk, it's this one.

Today I made a direct comparison with a Nokia 7.1: The gcam works way better wie the Nokia!
under very dark conditiones the nightmode-gcam-Nokia brought me much better pictures than nightmode with the stockcam on the p20. technically the cam of the nokia is much worse (no optical stabilisation for example) however the software GCAM just does the job!

Doesn't seem to be working on my P20.
I've tried changing the settings, reinstalling the app, but it still doesn't work. The app is either black for a few secs and then it closes or it appears normal and closes after I hit the shutter button.
EMUI 9.0.0 doesn't like this apk I guess

The stock camera is twice better, just look for details on bigger screen or zoom in night and daylight mode, same. Gcam have some software lighting efect this is why in night mode photos on Gcam are brihgter

Nobody really cares about that annoying vignetting ? I had to fix every single photo manualy, so it's just better to stick to stock camera. And since I had to fix every photo, I've also found out, that when you take stock camera photo with hdr and then lower clarity by 50-70 it looks pretty much same as Gcam, it even has comparable dynamic range. So no real reason to use Gcam anymore...

I used this apk:

MGC_6.1.021_BSG_Arnova_TlnNeun_1.2_test_fix_Exynos .apk

Set the viewfinder format to YUV and base to Pixel 2018 HW Zsl Hdr(need YUV).

The regular camera then works. Before it was black. Portrait and night shot are not working though.
